Christopher Bannerman
Christopher Bannerman is a British academic, choreographer, and former dancer. He is professor of dance and head of the School of Dance at Middlesex University. Bannerman started his career with the National Ballet of Canada but left in the 1970s to travel in south Asia. He worked with London Contemporary Dance Theatre as a principal dancer and choreographer for 15 years. Bannerman has been head of the School of Dance at Middlesex University since 1992, and professor of dance since November 1992. Middlesex University London (legally Middlesex University and abbreviated MDX) is a public research university in Hendon, northwest London, England. The name of the university is taken from its location within the historic county boundaries of Middlesex. London Contemporary Dance Theatre
The London Contemporary Dance Theatre (LCDT) was a contemporary dance company, based at The Place, founded by Robin Howard with Robert Cohan as its Artistic Director. Founded in 1967, and strongly influenced by the ideas of American modern and postmodern dance artists Martha Graham and Merce Cunningham, the company was probably the first contemporary dance company in the UK, and played a pioneering role in developing the art form in that country. Beijing Dance Academy
The Beijing Dance Academy (BDA, ) is a municipal public professional dance college at Haidian, Beijing. The academy is the highest institution for dance education and assessment in the People's Republic of China, conducting the nationwide teacher qualification level examinations in Chinese dance. The Beijing Dance Academy was established as the Beijing Dance School () in 1954, and turned into the Beijing Dance Academy with the approval of State Council and the sponsorship of the Ministry of Culture in 1978. In 2000, its sponsorship was transferred to the Beijing Municipal People's Government. The Academy provides BA and MA degrees and has become the only institution of higher learning for professional dance education in China.
