Christo Davids
Christo Lloyd Davids (born 20 August 1983) is a South African filmmaker and actor. He is known for his roles in the films ''Forgiveness'', ''Ernest in the Army'' and ''A Boy Called Twist''. He is also the Artistic Director of Cape Heart Theatre Company. Personal life Davids was born in Simon's Town, Cape Town. Until the age of nine, he lived in Eastridge, Mitchells Plain. After that, he relocated to Heidelberg and lived with his late grandfather Goliath Davids. He married Cindy Davids in 2013. The couple have two children; the elder child Elijah was born in 2016. Career Davids was 11 when he began his career in the series ''Onder Engele'' as Dial September in 1994. For the role, he was nominated for the Artes Award for the Best Actor in a TV series in 1996. He then appeared in ''Hagenheim: Streng Privaat''. In 1998, he made his film debut with the supporting role of Ben-Ali in the film ''Ernest in the Army''. Simon's Town, Cape Town
Simon's Town ( af, Simonstad), sometimes spelled Simonstown, is a town in the Western Cape, South Africa and is home to Naval Base Simon's Town, the South African Navy's largest base. It is located on the shores of False Bay, on the eastern side of the Cape Peninsula. For more than two centuries it has been a naval base and harbour (first for the British Royal Navy and now the South African Navy). The town is named after Simon van der Stel, an early governor of the Cape Colony. Topography The land rises steeply from near the water's edge and the town is boxed in along the shoreline by the heights above. The small harbour itself is protected from swells by a breakwater that was built with thousands of huge blocks of sandstone quarried out of the face of the mountain above. 7de Laan
''7de Laan'' is a South African Afrikaans soap opera created by Danie Odendaal and produced by Danie Odendaal Productions. The series focuses on the lives of residents staying in and around the community of 7de Laan (7th Avenue), in the suburb of Hillside. The programme's dialogue is primarily in Afrikaans and is subtitled in English with some English and Zulu dialogue in between. The street and shopfronts which are featured on the opening visuals, are that of Seventh Street in Melville, Johannesburg. History Odendaal originally conceived of the series when he was a resident of the Melville section of Johannesburg. At the time, Odendaal would watch the people of his community over breakfast and a cup of coffee at his favourite coffee shop. He would make up fictitious characters based on what he saw. ''Spoorloos'' (''Without A Trace'') is a South African crime drama anthology television series created by Ilse van Hemert and developed by Ochre Moving Pictures. The first season is based on the 2014 novel ''Daddy Long Legs'' by Vernon W. Baumann and set in the fictional town of Digtersdal in the Eastern Cape. Each subsequent season follows a new small town and cast of characters. The first season premiered on kykNET on 6 October 2018. The second season ''Spoorloos: Heksejag'' premiered on 14 July 2020.
