Christine Mboma
Christine Mboma (born 22 May 2003) is a Namibian Sprint (running), sprinter who competes in the 100 metres and 200 metres, 200 m. At the age of 18, she won a silver medal in the Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's 200 metres, 200 metres at the Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2020 Tokyo Olympics, becoming the first ever Namibian woman to win a women's Olympic medal and breaking the List of world under-20 records in athletics, world under-20 and List of African records in athletics, African senior record. Mboma also won the event at the 2021 World Athletics U20 Championships, 2021 World Under-20 Championships and 2021 Diamond League, Diamond League final, improving her record mark to 21.78 seconds. 2021 Diamond League
The 2021 Diamond League, also known as the 2021 Wanda Diamond League for sponsorship reasons, was the twelfth season of the Diamond League, annual series of outdoor track and field meetings, organised by World Athletics. The 2021 season sees an increase back to 32 Diamond Disciplines from the 24 originally planned for the 2020 Diamond League. The final used a new format which took place over two days on 8–9 September in one final meet, the Weltklasse Zürich, as had been planned to be introduced in 2020 but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A new award will be introduced for the "Best Performing Athletes" which will recognize ten athletes (five men and five women) for consistent top placements. Athletics at the 2020 Summer Olympics were held during the last ten days of the Games. They were due to be held from 31 July – 9 August 2020, at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the games were postponed to 2021, with the track and field events set for 30 July – 8 August. The sport of athletics at these Games was split into three distinct sets of events: track and field events, remaining in Tokyo, and road running events and racewalking events, moved to Sapporo. A total of 48 events were held, one more than in 2016, with the addition of a mixed relay event. World Athletics U20 Championships
The World Athletics U20 Championships is a biennial world championships for the sport of athletics organised by the World Athletics, contested by athletes in the under-20 athletics age category (19 years old or younger on 31 December in the year of the competition. The competition was launched as the IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics in 1986 and renamed to IAAF World U20 Championships in November 2015. The current name was adapted with the name change of the sports governing body in 2019. Anneisha McLaughlin-Whilby is the most successful athlete at the championships, having won one gold and four silver in individual and relay sprinting events between 2000 and 2004.
