Christie Désir
Christie Désir (born February 12, 1993) is a Haitian-American actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned as Miss Haiti 2014 and competed at Miss Universe 2014 in the USA. Early life Desir was born in New York City and holds a BBA in Marketing and a Minor in Fashion Styling. She interned for Sean "Diddy" Combs while attending The Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (L.I.M College). After graduating she worked at Universal Music Group, Interscope Records doing Branded Content and Partnerships, creating advertisement campaigns for artists under the label. Currently, she works closely with an organization to build schools throughout Haiti. Pageantry Miss Haiti 2014 Previously Désir competed at Miss Haiti 2014 and placed as the 2nd Runner-up. Life Ball
The Life Ball in Vienna is the biggest charity event in Europe supporting people with HIV or AIDS. The event is organized by the nonprofit organization AIDS LIFE, which was founded in 1992 by Gery Keszler and Torgom Petrosian. AIDS LIFE supports aid organizations devoted to helping people who are HIV-positive or have AIDS. The team entrusted with the allocation of funds thoroughly examines each petition. Moreover, it is an explicit goal of AIDS LIFE to raise public awareness. The Miss Haiti or Miss Haiti Univers is a national Beauty pageant in Haiti. The pageant was founded in 1920, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe. History Historically, the most notable contestants were Evelyn Miot and Gerthie David. On July 14, 1962, Evelyn Miot was the first black contestant to be one of the 15 semi-finalists in the Miss Universe Pageant. This was Miss Haiti's first international meet. Gerthie David competed in the Miss Universe Pageant in 1975 and placed in the finals, becoming runner up to Miss Finland, Anne Marie Pohtamo won the 1975 title. Miss International 2014 was the 54th Miss International pageant, held at the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa in Tokyo, Japan, on November 11, 2014. It was organized by the International Cultural Association. Bea Santiago of the Philippines crowned Valerie Hernández of Puerto Rico as her successor at the end of the event. Miss Universe 2014 was the 63rd Miss Universe pageant, held at the FIU Arena in Miami, Florida, United States on 25 January 2015. This was the first time in the history of the competition that the pageant was not held during the year the title was awarded for. However, the pageant was still known as the 2014 pageant.
