Christian Ulrik Kastrup
Christian Ulrik Kastrup (1784 – 6 September 1850) was a Norwegian jurist, military officer and politician. A jurist by education, from Stavanger, he worked as a military officer until 1811, when he became chief of customs in Vardø. In 1817 he became '' fut'' in the district '' Nordhordland og Voss''. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Søndre Bergenhus in 1821, 1822 and 1824. Political parties did not exist at the time. He became County Governor of Finnmarkens amt in 1828, of Stavangers amt in 1829 and of Nordre Bergenhus amt in 1833. Originally governing from the market town of Bergen Bergen (, ) is a city and municipalities of Norway, municipality in Vestland county on the Western Norway, west coast of Norway. Stavanger (city)
Stavanger, officially the Stavanger Municipality, is a city and municipality in Norway. It is the third largest city and third largest metropolitan area in Norway (through conurbation with neighboring Sandnes) and the administrative center of Rogaland county. The municipality is the fourth most populous in Norway. Located on the Stavanger Peninsula in southwest Norway, Stavanger counts its official founding year as 1125, the year the Stavanger Cathedral was completed. Stavanger's core is to a large degree 18th- and 19th-century wooden houses that are protected and considered part of the city's cultural heritage. Ulrik Frederik Cappelen (13 May 1797 – 24 November 1864) was a Norway, Norwegian jurist and politician. Hans Tostrup
Hans Tostrup (20 October 1799 – 27 January 1856) was a Norwegian politician, civil servant and government official. Tostrup was born at Hjelmeland in Rogaland, Norway. He was the son of infantry captain Nicolai Tostrup (1768–1858) and his wife Thale Margrethe Resen Holfeldt (1779–1860). He was one of eight siblings in a family which included goldsmith Jacob Tostrup (1806–1890) and timber merchant Christopher Tostrup (1804-1881) who co-owned the company Tostrup & Mathiesen. He started a military career, but due to declining vision he switched to a civil servant career, graduating as cand.jur. in 1824. From 1832 to 1836, he was appointed as a secretary at the University of Christiania (now University of Oslo). Gunder Aas
Gunder Aas (13 May 1785 – 5 May 1853) was a Norwegian civil servant and politician. He served as the County Governor of Stavanger county from 1833 until 1853. Gunder Aas was the son of a farmer from the village of Øyås in Melhus. He took the Norwegian legal exam in 1812. In July 1814 was appointed town bailiff in Vardø as well as the garrison auditor and a manager at Vardøhus fortress. He resigned from these positions with in 1817 and in 1817 became a procurator for upper and lower courts. In 1821, he was appointed as a judge in Vestre Råbyggelaget. In 1829, he became a judge in Jæren and Dalane. In 1833 he was appointed to be the Governor in Stavanger Amt. Aas represented Stavanger County in the Storting from 1833 to 1835. Peder Martinius Ottesen
Peder Martin Ottesen (1783–1852) was a Norwegian civil servant and politician. He served as the County Governor of Stavanger county from 1826 until 1828. He finished his schooling in 1804 and went on to receive a Cand.jur. degree in 1807. He began his career as a bureau chief in the government commission in Christiania from 1807 to 1810. Ottesen was later the chancellor's secretary from 1811 to 1813, then a judge in Inderøy from 1813 to 1818. He was an assessor at the Akershus diocesan court from 1818 to 1826. Then from 1826 to 1828, he was the Governor of Stavanger Amt. In 1828, he became the Burgomaster of Christiania, a job he held until 1837. In December 1830, he was the acting Governor of Akershus stiftamt after the previous Governor left the job and before the next Governor began his duties.
