Christian Saba
Christian Saba (born 29 December 1978) is a Ghanaian former Association football, footballer who played as a Defender (association football)#Centre-back, central defender. He is currently the team official of FC Bayern Munich Junior Team#Under 19, Bayern Munich U19. One of the most lengthy tenures of any foreign player with a sole team, he was never able however to make it past FC Bayern Munich II, the reserves of FC Bayern Munich, Bayern Munich. Club career Saba was born in Accra. After appearing in his country for local King Harrison Accra and Accra Hearts of Oak. Saba joined FC Bayern Munich's youth system in 1995 at the age of 16, alongside compatriot Emanuel Bentil. Neither was able to break into the first team, but the former did manage to stay with the club, playing for FC Bayern Munich II, the reserves and being an occasional standby player for the main squad. FC Bayern Munich II (''FC Bayern Munich Amateure'' until 2005) are the German reserve football teams, reserve team of Football in Germany, German association football club FC Bayern Munich, they currently play in the Regionalliga Bayern. In 2010–11 they played in the 3. Regionalliga Süd (1994–2012)
The Regionalliga Süd ( en, Regional League South) was the fourth tier of the German football league system from 2008 to 2012. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008, it was the third tier. It was the highest regional league for the southern part of Germany. It covered the states of Bavaria, Hesse and Baden-Württemberg and was one of three leagues at this level, together with the Regionalliga Nord and the Regionalliga West. Promotion And Relegation
In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. In a system of promotion and relegation, the best-ranked team(s) in the lower division are ''promoted'' to the higher division for the next season, and the worst-ranked team(s) in the higher division are ''relegated'' to the lower division for the next season. In some leagues, playoffs or qualifying rounds are also used to determine rankings. This process can continue through several levels of divisions, with teams being exchanged between adjacent divisions. Emanuel Bentil (born December 3, 1978, in Tema) is a Ghanaian footballer who last played for Hollywood United Hitmen in the USL Premier Development League. Career Professional Bentil began his playing career with Okwawu United, making his debut for the team aged 16, before scouts spotted him as he captained Ghana U-17 to victory at the 1995 FIFA U-17 World Championship, scoring the decisive goal against Brazil in the final. He subsequently signed for famed German side Bayern Munich, but never made a first team appearance for the side in his three years there, playing instead for the reserve team, before being released in 2000.
