Christian Hilfgott Brand
Christian Hilfgott Brand (16 March 1695, Frankfurt an der Oder – 22 July 1756, Vienna) was a German-Austrian landscape painter. His year of birth is also given as 1693 or 1694, and there are numerous variations of his middle name. Biography While he was still a boy, his father moved the family business to Hamburg, and it was there that he completed his education. He then moved to Regensburg, to live with his mother's relatives, where he sought employment in a commercial office. Friedrich August Brand (20 December 1735 – 9 October 1806) was an Austrian painter. The son of Christian Hilfgott Brand, Christian Hülfgott Brand, he was born at Vienna. He was a member of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, Imperial Academy, and died at Vienna in 1806. Christian Von Mechel
Christian von Mechel (4 April 1737 in Basel; † 11 April 1817 in Berlin) was a Swiss engraver, publisher and art dealer. He developed a broad trade in art, through business connections throughout northern and central Europe; although the French Revolutionary Wars ruined him financially, he started over in 1805 in Berlin. Although trained in art and copper etching, he found his niche as a purveyor of art. Joseph II employed him to convert the private Habsburg collection to one available for public display. Georg Kaspar Nagler (January 6, 1801 in Obersüßbach – January 20, 1866 in Munich) was a German art historian and art writer. Life and work Georg Kaspar Nagler, who came from a poor background studied from 1815 at the Wilhelmsgymnasium (Munich), Wilhelmsgymnasium, Munich (today). From 1823 he studied philology and natural sciences at the local lyceum, finally receiving a doctorate to become Dr. phil in 1829, at the University of Erlangen. Already since 1827 he was owner of a second-hand bookshop, after he married the bookshop owner's widow Johanna Ehrentreich. Heinrich Carl Brandt (11 November 1724, in Vienna – 6 May 1787, in Munich) was an Austrian-German court painter. He created portraits of several noble families in Mainz, Mannheim and Munich.
