Henrik Adeler
Henrik Adeler (1660–1718) was a Norwegian civil servant and politician. He served as the County Governor in Bratsberg amt from 1692 until 1710. Then he served as the Diocesan Governor of Christianssand stiftamt from 1711 until his death in 1718. During his time in Christianssand, he also served as County Governor of one of the subordinate counties: Nedenæs amt. During his time as diocesan governor in Christiansand, he came into bitter conflict with the Bishop of Christianssand, Jens Bircherod. The bishop sent a complaint against him to the king in 1712. The complaint led to a sharp reprimand for both, but especially towards Adeler, directly from the king. Mats De Tonsberg
Mats de Tonsberg or Mathias de Tonsberg (1638–1705) was a Norwegian civil servant and timber trader. He was born in Tønsberg in Jarlsberg og Larvik county in Norway to civil servant Anders Madssøn (1609-1670) and Karen Stranger (1617-1698). He was a brother-in-law of Christian Stockfleth, and uncle of Karen Toller. Born into a wealthy family, he studied at the University of Copenhagen from 1655, and subsequently politics and history at the Leiden University from 1661. After visiting several European universities, he returned to Norway in 1668, and was assigned an administrative position at the Akershus Castle. He was a member of ''Overhofretten'' court from 1684 until 1692. In 1704, he was named a member of ''Slottsloven''. Daniel Danielsen Knoff (1614–1687) was a Dano-Norwegian civil servant and politician. He served as the County Governor of three different counties: Romsdalen county from 1680 until 1681, Lister og Mandal county from 1681 until 1683, and in Stavanger county from 1683 until his death in 1687. Knoff was born in Roskilde in Denmark. He was a Norwegian businessman and customs administrator. In 1649, he was employed as a customs officer at Bragernes, working as the general customs administrator over the southern part of Norway from 1655 to 1670 and 1673–80. He built a large farm at Strømsø and owned several ironworks and farms in the area.
