Christian Democratic Refoundation
Popular Rebirth (, RP) is a minor Christian-democratic political party in Italy, led by Publio Fiori, a former right-wing Christian Democrat and, later, leading member of the National Alliance from 1994 to 2005. It was founded in October 2006 as Christian Democratic Refoundation (''Rifondazione DC'', RDC) from a split of the Christian Democracy for the Autonomies. In October 2008, along with the UDEUR, RDC launched Democratic Initiative which had the goal of uniting many centrist parties without representation in the Italian Parliament. In this they were soon joined, among others, by the Christian Democracy, the Christian Democratic Party, the Italian Democratic Socialist Party, the Italian Liberal Party and The Italian Socialists. The Italian Democratic Socialist Party (, PSDI) is a minor social-democratic political party in Italy established in 2004 as the continuation of the historical Italian Democratic Socialist Party, so that the new PSDI numbers its congresses in perfect continuity with the old PSDI. Clelio Darida
Clelio Darida (3 May 1927 – 11 May 2017) was an Italian politician. He was mayor of Rome and minister of the Italian Republic. Biography Darida was born in Rome in 1927. Starting from June 1960, he was member of Rome's municipal council for his party, Christian Democracy (DC). Within the DC, he was a member of the faction of Amintore Fanfani first, and Arnaldo Forlani later. He was elected mayor of Rome on 30 July 1969, being confirmed on 17 March 1972. In 1974 he formed a city council including only DC member, with indirect support by the councillors of the Italian Communist Party. Alliance for Italy (; ApI) was a centrist political party in Italy. The party, which was described in its manifesto as "democratic, liberal, popular" as opposed both to "right-wing populism" and the "social-democratic left", described as "an experience with high and memorable value, yet by now run out", was launched on 11 November 2009 by Francesco Rutelli, senator for the Democratic Party (PD) and former leader of Democracy is Freedom – The Daisy (DL).
