Christian Chaney
Christian Eric Chaney (born September 8, 1994) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Forward Madison FC in USL League One. Career Chaney played college soccer at Fresno City College between 2011 and 2014. In the summer of 2012, Chaney played with Mexican side C.D. De los Altos as an amateur player. Chaney has also played with Premier Development League side Fresno Fuego, where was a candidate for the League MVP in 2016, after scoring 13 goals in 12 appearances. After appearing in a friendly for Fresno Fuego against Armenian side Ararat Yerevan, Chaney was signed by the Armenian Premier League club. Chaney returned to the United States when he signed with United Soccer League club Sacramento Republic on August 12, 2016. United Soccer League (USL), formerly known as United Soccer Leagues, is a soccer league in the United States and Canada. It organizes several men's and women's leagues, both professional and amateur. 2018 USL Season
The 2018 USL season was the eighth season of the United Soccer League and second under Division II sanctioning. The previous season, the USL had provisional Div. II sanctioning from the United States Soccer Federation (U.S. Soccer) along with the North American Soccer League, but was given full sanctioning for the 2018 season with a two-year deadline to meet the full requirements set by U.S. Soccer. Louisville City FC were the defending USL Cup champions, while Real Monarchs were the defending Supporters’ Shield champions. This season was the last for four teams in the USL, with all changing leagues for 2019 and beyond. FC Cincinnati will join Major League Soccer. 2016 Sacramento Republic FC Season
The 2016 Sacramento Republic FC season is the club's third season of existence. The club is playing in the United Soccer League (USL), the third tier of the American soccer pyramid. After off season expansion of the USL from 24 to 31 teams, Sacramento Republic FC is competing in the new Western Conference of the USL. The season is to begin in March 2016 and concluded in September 2016. Background 2015 saw much growth in attendance with the expansion of Bonney Field, but this was not a sign of things to come for the club. In 2015, the Republic failed to produce on the field as they did the year before, dropping out of the playoffs in the first round. Their performance in the 2014 U.S. Open Cup was mirrored in 2015, once again losing to San Jose earthquakes in the 4th round.
