Christiaan Basson
Christiaan Basson (born 30 April 1982) is a South African professional golfer. Basson was born in Strand, Western Cape. As an amateur he represented South Africa for the Eisenhower Trophy in 2006. He turned professional in 2007 and joined the Sunshine Tour. He picked up his first win on Tour in 2009 at the Coca-Cola Charity Championship. Basson picked up his second victory in 2012 at the Investec Royal Swazi Open. Strand (Afrikaans for 'beach') is a seaside resort town in the Western Cape, South Africa. It forms part of the Helderberg region of the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality, situated on the north-eastern edge of False Bay and near the foot of the Helderberg Mountains. 2006 Eisenhower Trophy
The 2006 Eisenhower Trophy took place 26–29 October at De Zalze Golf Club and Stellenbosch Golf Club in Stellenbosch, east of Cape Town, South Africa. It was the 25th World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 70 three-man teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. Each team played two rounds on the two courses. The leading teams played at Stellenbosch Golf Club on the third day and at De Zalze Golf Club on the final day. The Netherlands won their first Eisenhower Trophy, two strokes ahead of Canada, who took the silver medal. The United States took the bronze medal while Wales finished in fourth place. Trevor Henry Fisher Jnr (born 8 June 1979) is a South African professional golfer who plays on the Sunshine Tour, where he is a nine-time winner. Fisher was born in Johannesburg, South Africa but currently resides in Modderfontein, in Johannesburg. He played the South African Open in 1999 and was the low amateur. He had won more than five amateur events when he turned professional in 2002, winning his first professional title the following year on the Sunshine Tour. 2015 Sunshine Tour
The 2015 Sunshine Tour was the 16th season of professional golf tournaments since the southern Africa based Sunshine Tour was relaunched in 2000, and the 9th since the tour switched a calendar based season in 2007. The Sunshine Tour represents the highest level of competition for male professional golfers in the region. The tour is based predominantly in South Africa with other events being held in neighbouring countries, including Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Zambia and Mauritius.
