Chris Tierney (soccer)
Christopher Wheeler Tierney (born January 9, 1986) is an American former professional soccer player, who is the current Assistant Sporting Director for the New England Revolution. He spent his entire 11-year career in Major League Soccer with the Revolution, primarily as a defender. Tierney scored 13 goals, including one at MLS Cup 2014, and contributed 40 assists in 245 appearances. Career College After playing high school soccer at the Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, Massachusetts, Tierney played college soccer at the University of Virginia, appearing in 79 games with the Cavaliers, starting 38, and scoring 11 goals and adding 16 assists in his four-year career. As a senior, he scored a career-high seven goals, and assisted on seven more, helping his team to advance to the NCAA College Cup in 2006 for the first time since 1997. Richmond Kickers
Richmond Kickers is an American professional soccer club based in Richmond, Virginia. The Kickers compete as a member of USL League One (USL1). The club was established in 1993, and began play that same year as a United States Interregional Soccer League (now USL League Two) expansion team, which at the time, was the fourth tier of soccer in the United States. The club's majority owner is 22 Holdings, LLC, and its minority owners are Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club and the Ukrop family, a prominent family from the Greater Richmond Region who founded the Ukrop's grocery chain. The company serves as the club's primary uniform sponsor. Darren Sawatzky has been the club's manager since 2019, taking over for David Bulow. North American SuperLiga
The SuperLiga was an annual association football competition in North America between four clubs from the Major League Soccer (United States and Canada) and four clubs from the Primera División (Mexico), the top professional league in each country. The competition was sanctioned by CONCACAF, U.S. Soccer, Canada Soccer and FMF, which served as the regional club tournament for the North American zone under CONCACAF, much like the Copa Interclubes UNCAF for the Central American zone and the CFU Club Championship for the Caribbean zone. The tournament was held from 2007 to 2010. Competition format The format consisted of a group stage, followed by playoffs or "knockout" rounds, with all games held at MLS sites. An anterior cruciate ligament injury occurs when the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is either stretched, partially torn, or completely torn. The most common injury is a complete tear. Midnight Riders (MLS Supporters Association)
The Midnight Riders is the independent supporters group for the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer. The name refers to the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere at the beginning of the American Revolutionary War. The main aim of the Midnight Riders “is to form a network of supporters such that (they) can meet, watch, travel to, and discuss games, and have a collective voice for supporters' interests with Revolution management.” The Midnight Riders are viewed as “the most passionate Revolution followers”, have been around since the inception of the league, and are known for their use of chants, singing, drums, and banners to show their support for the team and lead others in doing so.
