Chris O'Leary (hurler)
Christopher O'Leary (born 1 May 1997) is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a centre-back for the Dublin senior team. Born in Innishannon, County Cork, O'Leary first played competitive hurling at Hamilton High School. Here he captained the senior hurling team in the Harty Cup. O'Leary later lined out with University College Cork. O'Leary first appeared for the Valley Rovers club at juvenile and underage levels as a dual player, winning a county under-21 championship medal as a Gaelic footballer in 2015. He later joined the club's senior team while he also plays for divisional team Carrigdhoun. O'Leary was seventeen when he was selected for the Cork minor team. He played for one championship season with the minor team. O'Leary subsequently joined the Cork under-21 team. Valley Rovers GAA Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the parish of Innishannon in County Cork, Ireland. The club was formed in 1919 when two teams in the parish, Innishannon and Knockavilla, came together. The club fields teams in hurling, camogie, Gaelic football and Ladies' football. It participates in the Carrigdhoun division of Cork GAA. As of 2020, the club were playing at Premier senior level in football and Premier intermediate level in hurling. 2016 Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship
The 2016 Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 13th staging of the Cork Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 2004. The draw for the opening round of the championship took place at the County Convention on 13 December 2015. The championship began on 21 May 2016 and ended on 9 October 2016. On 9 October 2016, Bandon won the championship following a 1-20 to 1-14 defeat of Fermoy in the final. This remains their only championship title in the grade. Fermoy's Liam Coleman was the championship's top scorer with 3-51. Format change The 2016 championship saw the introduction of a new double-elimination format. The 2018 All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 35th staging of the All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1961. Fitzgibbon Cup
The Fitzgibbon Cup ( ga, Corn Mhic Giobúin) is the trophy for the premier hurling championship among higher education institutions (universities, colleges and institutes of technology) in Ireland. The Fitzgibbon Cup competition is administered by Comhairle Ard Oideachais Cumann Lúthchleas Gael (CLG), the GAA's Higher Education Council. Comhairle Ard Oideachais also oversees the Ryan Cup (tier 2 hurling championship), the Fergal Maher Cup (tier 3 hurling championship) and the Padraig MacDiarmada (tier 4 hurling championship). National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league.
