Fictional character biography Original series The second ''Dial H for Hero'' series debuted in the 1980s, in a special insert in ''Legion of Super-Heroes'' #272 (February 1981), then ran in ''Adventure Comics'' #479–490 and continued in '' New Adventures of Superboy'' #28–49; the duo also appeared alongside Superman in ''DC Comics Presents'' #44. The original writer and artist in the series were Marv Wolfman and Carmine Infantino. Carmine Infantino
Carmine Infantino (; May 24, 1925 – April 4, 2013) was an American comics artist and editing, editor, primarily for DC Comics, during the late 1950s and early 1960s period known as the Silver Age of Comic Books. Among his character creations are the Black Canary and the Barry Allen, Silver Age version of the Flash (DC Comics character), Flash with writer Robert Kanigher, Elongated Man with John Broome (writer), John Broome, the Barbara Gordon incarnation of Batgirl with writer Gardner Fox, Deadman (character), Deadman with writer Arnold Drake, and Christopher Chance, the second iteration of the Human Target, with Len Wein. He was inducted into comics' List of Eisner Award winners#The Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame, Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 2000.
