Chris Joris
Chris Joris in the middle Chris Joris (born 30 November 1952, Mechelen) is a Belgian jazz percussionist, pianist and composer. He is the son of Jan Joris, an opera singer. Joris joined Aksak Maboul in 1977, appeared on their first album but left the group later that year. In the mid 1990s, he formed The Chris Joris Experience, a jazz band with Sam Versweyveld (trumpet), Bart Defoort (saxophone), Ernst Vranckx (piano) and Chris Mentens (acoustic bass). He won the 1998 Belgian Golden Django for best Flemish artist. Recordings In October 2007 Joris released '' Rainbow Country'' on the Belgium De Werf label. AllMusic (previously known as All-Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the database was first made available on the Internet in 1994. AllMusic is owned by RhythmOne. History AllMusic was launched as All-Music Guide by Michael Erlewine, a "compulsive archivist, noted astrologer, Buddhist scholar and musician". He became interested in using computers for his astrological work in the mid-1970s and founded a software company, Matrix, in 1977. In the early 1990s, as CDs replaced LPs as the dominant format for recorded music, Erlewine purchased what he thought was a CD of early recordings by Little Richard. Reggie Washington
Reginald Reuben Washington (born July 28, 1962 in New York City) is an American jazz bassist. He is the brother of drummer Kenny Washington. Reggie and his brother Kenny played percussion instruments as The Washington Brothers from age seven. Soon after, Reggie took up cello and then both electric and double-bass. He began playing professionally as a bassist in the early 1980s, with Chico Hamilton for much of that decade, as well as with Ronald Shannon Jackson, Carlos Ward, Jean-Paul Bourelly, and Clyde Criner. Baba Sissoko (born 8 March 1963) is a percussionist from Mali. Career Born and raised in Bamako,Di Fazio, Di Maurizio (2015)Baba Sissoko: "La paura è una malattia. Eric Person
Eric Person (born May 2, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American alto and soprano saxophone player and leader of Meta-Four and Metamorphosis. Since coming to New York City in 1982, Person has performed and recorded with jazz masters McCoy Tyner, Dave Holland, Houston Person, Donald Byrd, Chico Hamilton, John Hicks and the World Saxophone Quartet, and rock, funk and world music figures like Vernon Reid, Ben Harper, Ofra Haza and Bootsy Collins. 1982-92 New York City Eric arrived in New York City on May 17, 1982. Shortly after he arrived, Eric played his first New York City gigs with the John Hicks Big Band at the Public Theater. In September 1983 he auditioned for drummer Chico Hamilton. He would perform with Mr. Hamilton off and on throughout the 80's and 90's. With Chico, Person would tour the United States, Europe and Japan and record six CD releases with him. Bob Stewart (musician)
Bob Stewart (born February 3, 1945) is an American jazz tuba player and music teacher. Early life and education Stewart was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music education from the Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts and a Master of Education from Lehman College. Career Stewart taught music in Pennsylvania public schools and at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School in New York City. He is now a professor at the Juilliard School and is a distinguished lecturer at Lehman College. Rainbow Country is a local services board in the Canadian province of Ontario. It encompasses and provides services to the communities of Whitefish Falls and Willisville in the Unorganized North Sudbury District and Birch Island and McGregor Bay in the Manitoulin District. It is the administrative headquarters of the Whitefish River Ojibwe First Nations band government. Whitefish Falls Whitefish Falls () is located in the geographic township of Mongowin, in the Sudbury District. Whitefish Falls lies on Highway 6, and is approximately 20 kilometres south of Espanola and 25 kilometres north of Little Current. An artist is a person engaged in an activity related to creating art, practicing the arts, or demonstrating an art.
