Chris Jarvis (presenter)
Martin Christopher Jarvis (born 20 April 1969) is an English actor, presenter and writer who has appeared mainly on children's television for the BBC since 1993, apart from 2000 to 2002 when he was working with ITV (TV network), ITV and Channel 4. In 2019, he started a radio station for children called Little Radio. Early life Jarvis grew up in Billericay and Brentwood, Essex, Brentwood. Career Early career Jarvis made his name in the early 1990s on Children's BBC, presenting from the "Broom Cupboard" alongside Zoe Ball and Josie d'Arby, as well as hosting his own shows like ''Look Sharp''. Jarvis wrote a lot of material for CBBC, Children's BBC himself (including the mini soap opera ''Wood Lane TV'') and created several memorable characters, including "The Anorak". ''Playdays'' (known as ''Playbus'' until December 1989) is a British pre-school television programme which ran from 1988 to 1997 on Children's BBC. The show was the successor to '' Play School'' and, like its predecessor, was designed as an educational programme. The show's name was changed after the BBC received a complaint from the National Playbus Association. In 2002, reruns were moved to the new CBeebies channel until August 2004. The BBC Philharmonic is a national British broadcasting symphony orchestra and is one of five radio orchestras maintained by the British Broadcasting Corporation. London Philharmonic Orchestra
The London Philharmonic Orchestra (LPO) is a British orchestra based in London. One of five permanent symphony orchestras in London, the LPO was founded by the conductors Thomas Beecham, Sir Thomas Beecham and Malcolm Sargent in 1932 as a rival to the existing London Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony and BBC Symphony Orchestras. The founders' ambition was to build an orchestra the equal of any European or American rival. Between 1932 and the Second World War the LPO was widely judged to have succeeded in this regard. After the outbreak of war, the orchestra's private backers withdrew and the players reconstituted the LPO as a self-governing cooperative. ''The Demon Headmaster'' is a British television series based on the children's books by Gillian Cross of the same name. Made for CBBC, the drama was first broadcast between 1996 and 1998. The first series contained six episodes, and aired twice weekly from 2 to 18 January 1996, the second series contained seven episodes and aired weekly from 25 September to 6 November 1996, and the third series contained six episodes and aired twice weekly from 6 to 22 January 1998. School location scenes in the first series were filmed at Hatch End High School, in Hatch End, Harrow, North West London and The Royal Masonic School for Girls in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. ''Step Inside'' is a British children's television programme produced by Tricorn Productions for CBeebies during 2001, in advance of the channel's launch, and aired between February and April 2002.
