Chris Hipkiss
Hipkiss (formerly known as Chris Hipkiss) is a British artist duo known for detailed figurative drawings, created using a mixed media technique that combines pencil, silver ink and metal leaf. The name is a pseudonym of married couple, Alpha and Christopher Mason. Life and work Christopher and Alpha met in London in the early 1980s and began working together shortly afterwards. They have lived in the south of France since 2001. In a 2012 review, Paul Hobson, director of the Contemporary Art Society, noted that the works "... share something approximate with Paul Noble’s vast panoramic vista of fantastical civilisations...". Natural themes dominate the artists' output, and in recent years, their work has developed into a more focused treatment of the subjects. Chris Hipkins
Christopher John Hipkins (born 5 September 1978) is a New Zealand Labour Party politician and a member of the Sixth Labour Government's Cabinet as Minister of Education, Minister of Police, Minister for the Public Service and Leader of the House. He has served as the Member of Parliament for Remutaka (formerly named Rimutaka) since the 2008 election. Early life Hipkins was born in the Hutt Valley in 1978. His mother is Rosemary Hipkins, chief researcher for NZ Council for Educational Research. He attended Waterloo Primary School and Hutt Intermediate. He was head boy at Hutt Valley Memorial College (later known as Petone College) in 1996. He joined the Labour Party in the same year. Hipkins went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in politics and criminology at Victoria University of Wellington, where he was student president in 2000 and 2001. . me Collectors Room Berlin / Stiftung Olbricht (Olbricht Foundation) was an exhibition space in Berlin, Germany, situated on Auguststrasse 68. Founded by art collector, endocrinologist and heir to Germany's Wella hair-care estate Thomas Olbricht, the space opened its doors on 1 May 2010. Besides showcasing Olbricht's own collection, the me Collectors Room Berlin also provided a platform for presenting other international private collections. Whitworth Art Gallery
The Whitworth is an art gallery in Manchester, England, containing about 55,000 items in its collection. The gallery is located in Whitworth Park and is part of the University of Manchester. In 2015, the Whitworth reopened after it was transformed by a £15 million capital redevelopment that doubled its exhibition spaces, restored period features and opened itself up to its surrounding park. A Fonds régional d'art contemporain (Frac) is a public regional collection of contemporary art set in one of the metropolitan or overseas regions of France. There are currently 23 Fracs across the country, organised into a national network called Platform since 2005. Fracs are funded by regions, by the state through the Ministry of Culture and by municipalities. Originally without venues, Fracs are now hosted in repurposed historical buildings, or in specifically-built art museums, depending on the size of their collection.
