Chris Green (politician)
Christopher Patrick James Green (born 12 August 1973) is a British Conservative Party politician who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolton West from 2015 until 2024. He was re-elected in 2017 and 2019, increasing his majority and vote share at both general elections. He lost the seat in the 2024 general election. In August 2019, he was appointed as a Parliamentary Private Secretary in the Department for Education. Following the 2019 general election, he was appointed as a Parliamentary Private Secretary to Baroness Evans, Leader of the House of Lords and Lord Privy Seal. He stepped down from this position on 13 October 2020 due to his disagreement with the government's approach to coronavirus restrictions and was a steering committee member of the lockdown-sceptic COVID Recovery Group, a group of Conservative MPs who oppose the UK government's December 2020 lockdown. Hulton Park Estate
Over Hulton is a suburb of Westhoughton within the Metropolitan Borough of Bolton, in Greater Manchester, England. Historically part of Lancashire, it lies south west of Bolton. History The ancient district of Hulton, contained three townships, Over Hulton, Middle Hulton and Little Hulton, it was recorded as Helghtun and Hulton in 1235, Hilton in 1278 and 1292, Hulton in 1292 although Hilton was still used until the 17th century. The chief manor was held by the Hultons at Hulton Park in Over Hulton. The earliest recorded Hultons were Iorweth and Madoc who came from Wales in 1167. It is possible they were joining family who were in the township from 989. Richard de Hulton, is recorded as having freehold of lands in the districts of Hulton, Ordsall, Flixton and Heaton in 1304. Greenfield status (also known as "unrestricted re-use") is an end point wherein a parcel of land that had been in industrial use is, in principle, restored to the conditions existing before the construction of the plant. All power plants—whether coal, gas, and nuclear—have a finite life beyond which it is no longer economical to operate them. At that point they are decommissioned; that is, they are dismantled and their components are disposed, either by sale or scrapping. In some cases the buildings that housed the plant may be put to other uses. However, in many cases contamination is unacceptable, and the buildings are demolished. The land on which the plant operated also may have been polluted with high levels of toxins, and in this case other remedial measures like removal and replacement of the top soil or clay capping may be required to render the site safe in perpetuity. The Backbench Business Committee of the British House of Commons was created on 15 June 2010 through the adoption of a new standing order. It was created soon after 2010 general election, but had been proposed during the previous Parliament by the Wright Committee on Reform of the House of Commons in its report of 12 November 2009. Remit The committee is responsible for determining, on behalf of backbench members (i.e., members who are not Ministers of the Crown or shadow ministers), the business before the House for approximately one day each week. This includes Thursday sittings in the parallel debating chamber, known as Westminster Hall, which are considered half days.
