Chris Auty (born 1957) is a British film executive, journalist and producer. Outlets for his early journalism included '' Time Out'', ''Sight and Sound'', and ''The Hollywood Reporter'', and his producing/executive producing credits include '' Stealing Beauty'', '' Blood and Wine'', '' Crash'', '' My Summer of Love'', '' In This World'', ''Bright Young Things'' and '' The Proposition''. Among noted directors with whom Auty has worked are Bernardo Bertolucci, Michael Winterbottom, Pawel Pawlikowski and David Cronenberg, and he is a former board member of the UK Film Council and the European Film Academy. Robert Jay Rafelson (February 21, 1933 – July 23, 2022) was an American film director, writer and producer. He is regarded as one of the key figures in the founding of the New Hollywood movement of the 1970s. Among his best-known films as a director include those made as part of the company he co-founded, Raybert/BBS Productions, '' Five Easy Pieces'' (1970) and '' The King of Marvin Gardens'' (1972) as well as acclaimed later films, '' The Postman Always Rings Twice'' (1981) and '' Mountains of the Moon'' (1990). Jeremy Jack Thomas (born 26 July 1949) is a British film producer. He is the founder and chairman of Recorded Picture Company. He produced Bernardo Bertolucci's '' The Last Emperor'', which won the 1988 Academy Award for Best Picture. In 2006 he received a European Film Award for Outstanding European Achievement in World Cinema. His father was director Ralph Thomas (director of many of the ''Doctor'' films), while his uncle Gerald Thomas directed all of the films in the ''Carry On'' franchise. History Recorded Picture Company (RPC) is an independent production company that makes feature films for worldwide theatrical release. The Cameo, Edinburgh
The Cameo is a cinema in Tollcross, Edinburgh, Scotland, originally named the King's Cinema. It opened on 8 January 1914, making it one of the oldest cinemas in Scotland still in use. Since becoming the Cameo in 1949 it has had a tradition of showing art house films, becoming an important venue for the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Since 1992 it has had three screens. The Cameo was independent until 2003, when it was bought by Cineworld's Picturehouse chain. History Behind a modern shopfront, much of the cinema's original architectural character remains. The entrance lobby has a terrazzo floor and one of the original pair of ticket kiosks. The National Film and Television School (NFTS) is a film, television and games school established in 1971 and based at Beaconsfield Studios in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, England.
