Chongqing Amusement Park
Chongqing Amusement Park (), formerly known as Chongqing Popular Science Center (), is the largest amusement park in Nan'an District, Chongqing, in southwestern China. The park was created in 1991. It cost the Chongqing government about 100 million RMB to construct facilities and import some amusement facilities from Russia and Japan. The park is located on top of a hill on the southern bank of the Yangtze River, near the southern end of Shibanpo Yangtze River Bridge. The ferris wheel, constructed in 1991 and renovated in 2007, stands on the hill and has become one of the landmarks of Nan'an District Nan'an District (), is one of the six central districts of Chongqing municipality, China. Nan'an District
Nan'an District (), is one of the six central districts of Chongqing municipality, China. It covers an area of 262.43 km2, with 44 km2 covered with forests and woods. It has an estimated population of 891,000 in late 2017. Geography The Yangtze River curves around the north and west border of Nan'an district for about 45 kilometers. The river separates Nan'an from its neighbouring districts such as Jiulongpo, Yuzhong, Jiangbei, and Yubei. The bridges crossing the Yangtze River are the primary passage for transportations to and from the other side of the river. Shibanpo Yangtze River Bridge
The Shibanpo Yangtze River Bridge () consists of a pair of prestressed concrete box girder bridges over the Yangtze River in Chongqing, China. The bridges carries 8 lanes of traffic on Jiangnan Avenue between the Nan'an District south of the Yangtze River and the Yuzhong District to the north. Original Bridge Construction of the original bridge began in November 1977. The bridge cost RMB 64.68 million and was opened to traffic on the 1st of July 1980. The bridge was the first road bridge over the Yangtze River in Chongqing. The bridge carried two lanes of traffic in each direction. Second Bridge In 2003 construction began on the second four lane bridge to the west of the existing bridge to meet growing traffic demands.
