Cho Tae-yul
Cho Tae-yul (; born 10 November 1955) is a South Korean diplomat who has been serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs since 9 January 2024. Education Cho graduated from Seoul National University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Laws degree. In 1983, Cho completed the Foreign Service Programme at the University of Oxford. Career Cho joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1979, where he served in the overseas missions in Thailand, the United States, and Saudi Arabia until the 1990s. Cho served as the South Korean ambassador to Spain in 2008 and South Korean Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2016 to 2019. He served as the Second Vice Foreign Minister from 2013 to 2016 during the Park Geun-hye government. He had also served as the chairman of the World Trade Organization Dispute Committee and, the chairman of the Geneva Government Procurement Committee. Park Geun-hye
Park Geun-hye (; ; often in English ; born 2 February 1952) is a South Korean politician who served as the 11th president of South Korea from 2013 to 2017, until she was impeached and convicted on related corruption charges. Park was the first woman to be elected president of South Korea, and also the first female president popularly elected as head of state in East Asia. She was also the first South Korean president to be born after the founding of South Korea.
