Chiusella
The Chiusella ( pms, Ciusèila) is a long river in the Piedmont region of Italy. Geography The Chiusella starts in the Graian Alps near Mount Marzo and Bocchetta delle Oche, a mountain pass connecting its valley with Val Soana. Flowing initially from NW to SE it reaches Traversella and the permanently inhabited part of the valley. In the territory of Issiglio it receives from the right side the waters of Torrente Savenca, its main tributary. The Chiusella is then blocked by a dam forming the Lake Gurzia. Chiusella Valley
The Chiusella valley (in Italian ''Valle Chiusella'' or, simply, ''Valchiusella'') is a valley in the Province of Turin (Piedmont, Italy). Etymology Valchiusella takes its name from Chiusella, a right-hand tributary of the Dora Baltea which flows through the valley. Geography The valley starts in the Graian Alps from the rough mountains where it meets with Aosta and Soana valleys and initially encompasses an almost unpopulated area used as pasturage during the summer. After Traversella the valley widens and becomes a hilly area punctuated with several small towns and villages. Dora Baltea
Dora Baltea () or Doire Baltée () is a river in northwestern Italy. It is a left-hand tributary of the Po and is about long. Name The river's Latin name was ''Duria maior'', ''Duria Baltica'' or ''Duria Bautica''. Strabo called it Δουριας (''Dourias'') in Greek. The name "Duria" is from the Celtic root *''dubr-'' ("flow"), found in many European river names such as Douro / Duero; it derives from Proto-Indo-European *''dʰew-'' ("flow"). The second part may derive from the Illyrian root *''balta'' ("‘swamp, marsh, white clay"). In the local languages, the river is called , frp, label= Valdôtain, Djouiye; pms, Deura Bàotia.
