Chitra or citra is an Indian genre of art that includes painting, sketch and any art form of delineation. The earliest mention of the term ''Chitra'' in the context of painting or picture is found in some of the ancient Sanskrit texts of Hinduism and Pali texts of Buddhism. Nomenclature ''Chitra'' (IAST: ''Citra'', चित्र) is a Sanskrit word that appears in the Vedic texts such as hymns 1.71.1 and 6.65.2 of the ''Rigveda''. There, and other texts such as ''Vajasaneyi Samhita'', ''Taittiriya Samhita'', ''Satapatha Brahmana'' and ''Tandya Brahmana'', ''Chitra'' means "excellent, clear, bright, colored, anything brightly colored that strikes the eye, brilliantly ornamented, extraordinary that evokes wonder". In the ''Mahabharata'' and the ''Harivamsa'', it means "picture, sketch, dilineation", and is presented as a genre of ''kala'' (arts). Niyazi
Niyazi Zulfugar oghlu Taghizade Hajibeyov (; 20 August 1912 – 2 August 1984) was a Soviet and Azerbaijani conductor and composer. People's Artist of the USSR (1959) and Hero of Socialist Labour (1982). Early life Niyazi was born on August 20, 1912, in Tbilisi in a family of prominent Shusha musicians. His father was the composer Zulfugar Hajibeyov. He is the nephew of Uzeyir Hajibeyov, the founder of the Azeri classical music. He played the violin in "Qırmızı Kadet" Turkish military orchestra in 1921. He studied at the Gnessin Music School in Moscow in 1925-1926. In 1929-30 he studied at the Central Musical Technical School in Leningrad, but dropped out due to health problems. He returned to Baku in 1931. Right after that, he was sent to Dagestan where he met his future wife Həchər khanum. Hecher Khanum's family would not approve of the marriage. Chitrakar
Chitrakar (Devanagari: चित्रकार) is a caste within the Newar community of the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. The Newar caste system is divided according to profession. Accordingly, Chitrakars were painters and mask makers. In Nepal Bhasa (the language of the Newar community), this caste is called "pun" (पुं) or "puna". The literal translation of the word ''"chitrakar"'' from Sanskrit is 'image maker', where ''"chitrá"'' in Sanskrit means 'an image', and ''"kara"'' 'the maker'. Traditional occupation The Pun or Chitrakar paint paubhas used in prayer rooms and murals in temples, make masks used for ritual dances, paintings on ceramics and woodblock prints used during festivals. Spica
Spica is the brightest object in the constellation of Virgo and one of the 20 brightest stars in the night sky. It has the Bayer designation α Virginis, which is Latinised to Alpha Virginis and abbreviated Alpha Vir or α Vir. Analysis of its parallax shows that it is located 250 light-years from the Sun. It is a spectroscopic binary star and rotating ellipsoidal variable; a system whose two stars are so close together they are egg-shaped rather than spherical, and can only be separated by their spectra. The primary is a blue giant and a variable star of the Beta Cephei type. ''Chitra'' is a one-act play written by Rabindranath Tagore, first published in English in 1913 by the India Society of London. The play adapts part of the story from the ''Mahabharata'' and centers upon the character of Chitrangada, a female warrior who tries to attract the attention of Arjuna. ''Chitra'' has been performed worldwide and has been adapted into several different formats, such as dance. Synopsis The play adapts the story of Chitrāngadā and Arjuna from the Mahabharata and begins with Chitra beginning a conversation with Madana, the god of love, and Vasanta, the god of springtime and eternal youth. They ask Chitra who she is and what is bothering her, to which she replies that she is the daughter of the king of Manipur and has been raised like a boy as her father had no male heir. ''Chitra'' () is a 2001 Indian Kannada-language romantic drama film directed by Dinesh Babu and produced by Ramoji Rao. A remake of the Telugu film '' Chitram'' (2000), directed by Teja, the film stars Prasad and newcomer Rekha Vedavyas with Ananth Nag in a supporting role. The film had musical score by Gurukiran, which was well received. The film, upon release, was well received and declared a silver jubilee at the box office. Cast Production This is Prabhu Deva's brother Prasad's first Kannada film. Model Rekha Vedavyas plays an NRI student in the film. She received the role after one of the producers, Jayashri Devi, saw her photographs. Soundtrack The music of the film was composed by Gurukiran. The soundtrack was well received upon release and Gurukiran won the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director for the year 2001. ''Chitra'' is a 1946 Tamil-language film produced by T. R. Sundaram of Modern Theatres. Directed by Wahab Kashmiri, it features K. L. V. Vasantha, T. S. Balaiah, T. S. Durairaj, K. K. Perumal, M. E. Madhavan and V. S. Susheela. The film was released on 30 March 1946 and failed commercially. Plot A widowed police commissioner's daughter (Vasantha) falls in love with another police officer (Balaiah). Vasantha's father realises that a man has been committing treason by secretly sending radio messages to enemies, so he hires Balaiah to discover who it is. Balaiah, aided by two incompetent helpers (Durairaj and Madhavan), sets out to find the culprit, but the culprit imprisons them in an isolated bungalow. Unable to find Balaiah, Vasantha is devastated. She and her father make several efforts to locate Balaiah and his aids but fail.
