Chisamba District
Chisamba District is a district of Central Province, Zambia. It covers a total surface area of 5,526 sq.km and is known for its agricultural activities with over 32,000 small scale farming families and 256 commercial farmers, the majority of whom are white Zambians. It shares borders with Lusaka, Chongwe, Chibombo, Kabwe, Kapiri Mposhi and Luano Districts. The District has a total population of 103,983 of which 51,955 are females and 52,028 are males. History Chisamba District was created in 2013 (by splitting Chibombo District), due to the efforts of Zambian president Michael Sata. The first District Commissioner was Ferdinard Chipindi. The district's founding was possible due to land given for district development by Chief Chamuka of the Lenje speaking people. Funding was allocated for construction and sanitation. Districts Of Zambia
The ten provinces of Zambia are divided into a total of 116 districts as of 2018. Article 109 in part VIII of the constitution of Zambia deals with local government. It states only that there should be some form of local government, and that this local government should be based on democratically elected councils on the basis of universal adult suffrage. Kapiri Mposhi District is a district of Zambia, located in Central Province. The capital lies at Kapiri Mposhi. As of the 2010 Zambian Census, the district had a population of 240,638 people. Mulungushi River
The Mulungushi River in central Zambia is a tributary of the Lunsemfwa River and a part of the Zambezi River basin. It rises on the plateau north-west of Kabwe and flows south-east into the Luangwa Rift Valley where it joins the Lunsemfwa. The river is the site of the Mulungushi Dam, and its name has become a symbol of Zambia's independence through the Mulungushi Rock of Authority. Michael Sata
Michael Charles Chilufya Sata (6 July 1937 – 28 October 2014) was a Zambian politician who was the fifth president of Zambia, from 23 September 2011 until his death on 28 October 2014. A social democrat, he led the Patriotic Front (PF), a major political party in Zambia. Under President Frederick Chiluba, Sata was a minister during the 1990s as part of the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) government. He went into opposition in 2001, forming the PF. As an opposition leader, Sata – popularly known as "King Cobra" – emerged as the leading opposition presidential contender and rival to President Levy Mwanawasa in the 2006 presidential election, but was defeated. Following Mwanawasa's death, Sata ran again and lost to President Rupiah Banda in 2008. Provinces Of Zambia
Zambia is divided into 10 provinces for administrative purposes. Each province is headed by a minister appointed by the President and there are ministries of central government for each province. The administrative head of each province is the Permanent Secretary, appointed by the President. There are Deputy Permanent Secretary, heads of government departments and civil servants at the provincial level. Provinces are further divided into districts and almost all the district headquarters are the same as the district names. Each of the 116 districts in the 10 provinces has a council which is headed by an elected representative, called councilor. Each councilor holds office for five years. Chibombo District is a district of Central Province, Zambia. As of the 2010 Zambian Census, the district had a population of 293,765 people. It consists of two constituencies, namely Keembe and Katuba. Its headquarters are at Chibombo, and it lies between the Lukanga Swamp in the west and the end of the Luangwa Valley in the east.
