Clyde A. "Chip" Perfect Jr. is a former Republican Party (United States), Republican member of the Indiana Senate. He represented District 43, which includes all of the counties of Ohio County, Indiana, Ohio and Jennings County, Indiana, Jennings along with parts of the counties of Bartholomew County, Indiana, Bartholomew, Dearborn County, Indiana, Dearborn, Decatur County, Indiana, Decatur, Jackson County, Indiana, Jackson, and Ripley County, Indiana, Ripley. He was elected to the Senate in 2014, succeeding Johnny Nugent. He was a member of the Senate's committees on agriculture, local government, natural resources, and pensions and labor. Perfect introduced a bill in 2019 to remove restrictions on child labor, raising conflict-of-interest concerns, as this would likely benefit his business. Johnny Nugent
Johnny Nugent (born July 18, 1939) is a Republican Party (United States), Republican member of the Indiana Senate, representing the 43rd District from 1978 to 2014. He was born in Cleves, Ohio and graduated from high school in 1957. Nugent has owned Nugent Tractor Sales since 1968. He served on the Dearborn County Board of Commissioners from 1966 to 1974. In 2002, he was arrested for driving under the influence, with a blood alcohol content of 0.13%. In 2009, he introduced legislation that would have prohibited Indiana schools from banning firearms.
