Chingaari
''Chingaari'' ( hi, चिंगारि; en, Spark) is a 2006 Indian Hindi drama film directed by Kalpana Lajmi. The film is based on the novel, ''The Prostitute and the Postman'' by Bhupen Hazarika. This was the fourth to star Mithun Chakraborty in a negative role after ''Jallaad'' (1995), ''Elaan (2005 film)'' and ''Classic Dance of Love'' (2005). The film is a commentary on the abuse of power and in particular discusses the injustices of the priests in India. Beneath the love triangle between the main characters, there is an age-old story that shows that not even "holy men" are exempt from the corruption of power. Later it was dubbed in Tamil as ''Peyar Sandhya Thozil Dhasi'' Plot Basanti (Sushmita Sen) is a prostitute with a child, Titali, working with Ila Arun. Kalpana Lajmi
Kalpana Lajmi (1954–2018) was an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter. Lajmi was an independent filmmaker working more on realistic, low-budget films, which are known in India as parallel cinema. Her films were often woman-oriented. She had been for a long time manager with Bhupen Hazarika. She was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2017 and died on 23 September 2018 at the age of 64. Aadesh Shrivastava
Aadesh Shrivastava (4 September 1964 – 5 September 2015) was a music composer and singer of Indian music. Initially, he had worked as a drummer to music composers including R. D. Burman, Rajesh Roshan before working independently as a music director. Over the course of his career, he had composed music for over 100 Hindi films. Just a day after he turned 51, he died of cancer in Kokilaben Hospital. Career Born in a Hindu Kayastha family in Katni, Shrivastava got his first big break with the film ''Kanyadaan'' in 1993. Vijayta Pandit is an Indian actress and playback singer, most famous for her first film ''Love Story'' (1981). Early life and background Vijayta comes from a musical family originating from Pili Mandori Village in Hissar district of Haryana state. Pandit Jasraj is her uncle. Her older sister is Sulakshana Pandit, and like her, is an actress and playback singer. Her brothers are music directors Jatin Pandit and Lalit Pandit, better known as Jatin–Lalit.
