Derbi is a manufacturer of motorcycles, scooters, mopeds and recreational all-terrain vehicles produced by Nacional Motor S.A.U., a Spanish subsidiary of Piaggio & Co. SpA. 2005 Chinese Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2005 Chinese motorcycle Grand Prix was the third round of the 2005 MotoGP Championship. It took place on the weekend of 29 April-1 May 2005 at the Shanghai International Circuit. It was the first time that MotoGP raced in China. MotoGP race report This race was most notable for the very wet race conditions, as well as Valentino Rossi's win and Olivier Jacque's first and only podium on the Kawasaki. After two races, it is Valentino Rossi who has a narrow lead in the standings with 45 points, followed by Brazilian veteran Alex Barros with 38 points and Marco Melandri with 29 points. During Saturday qualifying it was Sete Gibernau who took his first pole position of the year with a time of 1:59.710, followed by Marco Melandri in second and Loris Capirossi in third place. Mattia Pasini (born 13 August 1985) is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. Career Early career Born in Rimini, Pasini participated in his first race at the age of 9. 125cc World Championship After several successful years in the Italian and European championships, he made his 125cc world championship debut in 2004 as the teammate of Roberto Locatelli. He finished his first season in the 15th place overall, and earned the rookie of the year award. His best results were a 3rd place in Qualifying and a 7th place in the Malaysian Grand Prix. The following year Pasini was running in the lead in most of the races and won the Chinese and Catalan Grands Prix. He finished the season in fourth place overall. Daniel Pedrosa Ramal (born 29 September 1985) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer who retired from regular competition after the season.
