Chime (video Game)
''Chime'' is a 2010 Music video game, music and puzzle video game developed by Zoë Mode, released initially on the Xbox Live Arcade service, and later for Microsoft Windows, Windows. An extended version of the game, called ''Chime Super Deluxe'', was released on the PlayStation Network in March 2011. ''Chime'' is the first title released by the Not-for-profit corporation, non-profit video game publisher OneBigGame. Gameplay ''Chime'' is a block-dropping game. Players control a single Pentomino, shape at a time, and can move, rotate, and then place it onto a grid. A beatline moves across the grid in time with the music, setting off events when it hits placed shapes. Quads are created by placing shapes in solid blocks of 3x3 or more. When a quad is completed and the beat line hits, different musical samples are triggered dependent on its shape. Ellen McLain (born 1952 or 1953) is an American voice actress. She is best known for providing the voice of GLaDOS, the primary antagonist of the '' Portal'' video game series, the Combine Overwatch AI in '' Half-Life 2'', and the Administrator, the announcer in '' Team Fortress 2''. "Still Alive" is the song featured in the closing credits of the 2007 video game '' Portal''. It was composed and arranged by Jonathan Coulton and was performed by Ellen McLain, who voiced the ''Portal'' antagonist and in-game singer of the song, GLaDOS. Two Valve developers commissioned a song by Coulton, a fan of Valve's ''Half-Life'' series, which is set in the same universe as ''Portal''. The song was released on ''The Orange Box'' Soundtrack on December 21, 2007, along with an exclusive vocal mix not heard in the game. The song plays after GLaDOS is defeated by protagonist Chell. Lemon Jelly are a British electronic music duo from London that formed in 1998 and went on hiatus starting in 2008. Since its inception, the band members have always been Fred Deakin and Nick Franglen. Lemon Jelly has been nominated for awards like the Mercury Music Prize and BRIT Awards. The bright colourful artwork featured in the albums and music videos, and the Lemon Jelly typeface, became part of the "brand". "Chime" is the debut single from the British electronic group Orbital. It was originally recorded on cassette tape and allegedly cost less than £1 to produce. The track was originally released in December 1989 and was a big underground success. In 1990, it had a wider release on FFRR Records, and reached number 17 on the UK Singles Chart. The track has been referred to as the British equivalent to Derrick May's seminal classic " Strings of Life" and was included at number 11 on ''Mixmag'' magazine's "100 Greatest Dance Singles of All Time". Orbital are an English electronic music duo from Dunton Green, Kent, England, consisting of brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll. The band's name is taken from Greater London's orbital motorway, the M25 motorway, M25, which was central to the early rave scene during the early days of acid house. Paul Hartnoll
Paul Hartnoll (born 19 May 1968) is one of two brothers (the other being Phil Hartnoll) who make up the electronic dance act Orbital. History Hartnoll played in a local band during the mid-1980s, Noddy and the Satellites, featuring avant-garde clarinetist Duncan Walker. In 1987, Paul and his brother Phil began recording under the name Orbital with keyboards, a drum machine and a 4-track. Hartnoll's first brush with fame came when Orbital appeared on Top of the Pops on 22 March 1990. Speaking to The Guardian in December 2013 he explained this was a long way from his Sevenoaks roots.
