Colin Chilvers
Colin Chilvers (1945 – 19 November 2024) was an English television and music video director and special effects coordinator. He is known for his work on ''The Rocky Horror Picture Show'' (1975), ''Superman'' (1978), ''Condorman'' (1981), and ''X-Men'' (2000). Chilvers directed the " Smooth Criminal" segment from Michael Jackson's ''Moonwalker.'' When working with Michael Jackson, Chilvers told ''Rolling Stone'', "I showed Michael a movie that I felt would fit the theme of the piece, ''The Third Man''. He loved the look of it, that sort of film-noir look, so we used that to get the camera man to light it in a similar way." Chilvers won a Special Achievement Academy Award in 1979 for ''Superman''. Liam Chilvers
Liam Christopher Chilvers (born 6 November 1981) is an English former footballer who played as a centre back. A graduate of the Arsenal Academy, he won the FA Youth Cup with the club in 2000. After turning professional, he spent four weeks of the 2000–01 season on loan at Northampton Town, three months on loan at Notts County in the 2001–02 season, and the first half of the 2002–03 season on loan at Belgian side K.S.K. Beveren. He spent the second half of the 2002–03 season and the 2003–04 campaign on loan at Colchester United, after which he was allowed to join the club permanently. He stayed at Colchester for the next two years. He helped the club win promotion into the Championship before he transferred to Preston North End in July 2006. Peter Chilvers
Peter Chilvers was an inventor, engineer and promoter of sailing and windsurfing. He is credited with an early version of a sail powered surfboard. He died from lung cancer on 26 February 2015. Life Chilvers had been an engineer for Lotus and founded a sailing and windsurfing centre in London. Chilvers is credited with creating a crude sailing craft propelled by a free-sail system while living on Hayling Island in 1958. His craft was recognized as prior art in later court cases in England regarding sailboard patents and royalties. The windsurfing centre in London's East End was founded by Chilvers as a philanthropic venture to promote sailing and windsurfing amongst underprivileged children of the East End in the 1970s. He created and maintained the centre for over 25 years. Peter was certainly still running the sailing centre together with a bar on a Dutch sailing barge at Royal Victoria Dock into the 2000s.
