Chilly (band)
Chilly was a German Euro disco and rock band from 1978 to 1983. The members of Chilly were Ute Weber (lead singer), Brad Howell (singer), Werner Suedhoff (dancer), Andrea Linz (dancer), Sofia Ejango (dancer), and Oscar Pearson (dancer). They were created and produced by the producer, composer, and book author Bernt Möhrle. Their debut album "For Your Love" included a music melody of the title song "For Your Love", recorded with an arrangement by Christian Kolonovits and Bernt Möhrle. The original "For Your Love" song was a Yardbirds hit released in 1965, written by Graham Gouldman. Möhrle added new lyrics and composed additional music to the arrangement "I Walk Alone" and the nearly 12-minute suite became an international disco hit. It remained on the Billboard dance club songs charts for 7 weeks peaking at number 38 in April 1979. His version was used and remixed among others by DJ Hell on the album Munich Machine. Euro Disco
Eurodisco (also spelled as Euro disco) is a genre of electronic dance music that evolved from disco in the middle 1970s, incorporating elements of pop and rock into a disco-like continuous dance atmosphere. Many Eurodisco compositions feature lyrics sung in English, although the singers often share a different mother tongue. Eurodisco derivatives generally include Europop and Eurodance, with the most prominent sub-genres being space disco of the late 1970s and Italo disco of the early 1980s. The genre declined in popularity after 1990 in preference to house and eurodance. Brad Howell
Brad Howell is an American keyboardist, pianist, composer and singer, known as the singer who provided the vocals for German band Chilly and the actual vocals lip-synced by Rob Pilatus for the musical duo Milli Vanilli. Career When Howell became a keyboardist and pianist, he appeared on chat shows and other programs featuring music. During one of these appearances, he came to the attention of producer Frank Farian, who wanted him to provide the vocals that would later be attributed to the duo Milli Vanilli. Howell did this work on all of the duo's albums until the truth became public, leading to a worldwide scandal. Subsequently Farian decided to form a band using all of the vocalists who did the singing for the act, which he called The Real Milli Vanilli. For Your Love
"For Your Love" is a rock song written by Graham Gouldman and recorded by the English group the Yardbirds. Released in March 1965, it was their first top ten hit in both the UK and the US. The song was a departure from the group's blues roots in favour of a more commercial pop rock sound. Guitarist Eric Clapton disapproved of this change, and chose to leave the group shortly after the single was released. That same year, the song was also included on the self-titled album of Herman's Hermits. Background Gouldman wrote the song at the age of 18 while working by day in a gentlemen's outfitters near Salford Docks and playing by night with the semi-professional Manchester band the Mockingbirds. The Yardbirds
The Yardbirds are an English rock music, rock band formed in London in 1963. The band started the careers of three of rock's most famous guitarists: Eric Clapton (1963–1965), Jeff Beck (1965–1966) and Jimmy Page (1966–1968), all of whom ranked in the top five of ''Rolling Stone'' magazine's 2011 list of 100 greatest guitarists. Graham Gouldman
Graham Keith Gouldman (born 10 May 1946) is an English singer, musician and songwriter, best known as the co-lead singer and bassist of the art rock band 10cc. He has been the band's only constant member since its formation in 1972. Before 10cc, Gouldman worked as a freelance songwriter and penned many hits for major rock and pop groups, including the Yardbirds, the Hollies, Herman's Hermits and Ohio Express. Chocolate Puma are a DJ and music production duo from Haarlem, North Holland, consisting of René ter Horst ("DJ Zki") and Gaston Steenkist ("Dobre"). "Sunshine of Your Love" is a 1967 song by the British rock band Cream. With elements of hard rock and psychedelia, it is one of Cream's best known and most popular songs. "Layla" is a song written by Eric Clapton and Jim Gordon, originally recorded with their band Derek and the Dominos, as the thirteenth track from their only studio album, '' Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs'' (1970). Its contrasting movements were composed separately by Clapton and Gordon. The piano part has also been controversially credited to Rita Coolidge, Gordon's girlfriend at the time. The song was inspired by a love story that originated in 7th-century Arab literature and later formed the basis of '' The Story of Layla and Majnun'' by the 12th-century Persian poet Nizami Ganjavi, a copy of which Ian Dallas had given to Clapton.
