Chilberg
Chilberg (alternate spellings include Killberg and Kylburg) is a Swedish-American family that came from Knäred, Halland, Sweden, to America in 1846 with the boat ''Superb'', starting their journey in Gothenburg to arrive in Philadelphia. This family were early American pioneers moving west, from Sweden, to Bergholm in Wapello, Iowa, with a short period in Oregon to finally settle in the Skagit Valley at Pleasant Ridge, La Conner, Skagit County, Washington. John Edward Chilberg later moved to Seattle as a child in the early 1870s. Prominent members The oldest known family member was Karl Killberg, a parish clerk living 1695 in Hishult, Halland, Sweden. One account of the family's migration to the US states that the family settled in Seattle and owned a grocer and a knitting house, the very first Scandinavian businesses in Seattle. John Edward Chilberg II
John Edward Chilberg II (September 24, 1929 in California – March 2, 1987 in Los Angeles, California, United States) was a noted American production designer and art director. He was a member of the Swedish-American Chilberg family, and his grandfather John Edward Chilberg was the director of the 1909 Alaska–Yukon–Pacific Exposition. John is mostly known as the art director in '' Star Trek III: The Search for Spock'' at Paramount Pictures, and his work in television series like '' Dragnet'', ''Dynasty'', ''The Colbys'', and miniseries as '' Rich Man, Poor Man''. Halland
Halland () is one of the traditional provinces of Sweden (''landskap''), on the western coast of Götaland, southern Sweden. It borders Västergötland, Småland, Scania and the sea of Kattegat. La Conner
La Conner is a town in Skagit County, Washington, United States with a population of 965 at the 2020 census. It is included in the Mount Vernon–Anacortes, Washington Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town hosts several events as part of the annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival held in April. History La Conner was first settled in May 1867 by Alonzo Low and was then known by its post office name, Swinomish. Its location on the Swinomish channel was an ideal safe harbor for ships. In 1869, J.S. Conner bought the settlement's trading post and in 1870 had the name changed to honor his wife, Louisa Ann Conner. The French-appearing "La" represented her first and middle initials.
