Chigliak is a record label and imprint of Jagjaguwar dedicated to albums that have had limited or non-commercial releases. It was founded in 2012 by Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. History Chigliak was named after ''Northern Exposure'' character Ed Chigliak, whom Vernon cited as " isfavorite in the pantheon of characters in the history of the world. ..H]e's sort of a representation of what we're trying to do at the label: like good music that may not be box office-smashing." 12 Rods
12 Rods (also known by the stylistic variants 12RODS and Twelve Rods) was an American indie rock band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. The group was formed in Oxford, Ohio in 1992, later relocating to Minneapolis in 1995 where it was based until its disbandment in 2004. Aside from a one-off reunion show in 2015, the band remained inactive until 2021, when frontman Ryan Olcott announced on Facebook that he was making a new album under the 12 Rods name. He went on to release "If We Stayed Alive" and toured with a brand new line up. In June of 2025 Olcott posted to Instagram announcing that the band had once more disbanded, stating that the members had been fired due to insubordination. Justin Vernon
Justin DeYarmond Edison Vernon (born April 30, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. He is best-known as the primary songwriter and Lead vocalist, frontman of indie folk band Bon Iver. He is also a member of the bands Volcano Choir, Big Red Machine (band), Big Red Machine, the Shouting Matches, and Gayngs, and was previously a member of the now-defunct band DeYarmond Edison. Known for his distinct falsetto voice, Vernon has received widespread acclaim for his work, predominantly with Bon Iver. Bon Iver ( ) is an American indie folk band founded in 2006 by singer-songwriter Justin Vernon in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Sarah Siskind
Sarah Siskind (born April 15, 1978) is an American folk singer and songwriter. Career Siskind grew up in North Carolina in a musical household. She learned the piano at an early age, began writing songs at age eleven and recorded her first album at fourteen. Her debut album, ''Covered'' (2002), was released independently and included appearances by jazz guitarist Bill Frisell and Jennifer Kimball. The album's songs were about love, family, and relationships.
