''Chicken-n-Beer'' is the fourth studio album by American rapper Ludacris. It was released on October 7, 2003, by Disturbing tha Peace and Def Jam Recordings. Recording sessions took place from 2002 to 2003, and it was handled by several record producers, including DJ Nasty & LVM, Kanye West, Mo B. Dick, DJ Paul, Juicy J and Ludacris himself. The album, ''Chicken-n-Beer'' is musically similar to Ludacris' previous work, with his use of a fast, highly versatile flow. Some of the songs on the album take a political overtone. Ludacris
Christopher Brian Bridges (born September 11, 1977), known professionally as Ludacris (, spoken as "ludicrous" in American English), is an American rapper and songwriter. Born in Champaign, Illinois, Ludacris moved to Atlanta, Georgia, at age nine, where he first began rapping. Starting out with a brief stint as a disc jockey, DJ, he formed his own record label, Disturbing tha Peace in the late 1990s to independently release his debut studio album ''Incognegro'' (1999). "Stand Up" is a song by Ludacris, released as the second single from his fourth album, ''Chicken-n-Beer'' on August 19, 2003. It became his first song to peak atop the ''Billboard'' Hot 100—remaining on the chart for 28 weeks—on the week dated December 6 of that year. It contains a guest appearance from American rapper Shawnna, who provides a call and response dichotomy with Ludacris for the song's chorus. "P-Poppin'" (edited as "Booty Poppin'" to make it less explicit) is the first single from Ludacris's fourth album ''Chicken-n-Beer''. It features Shawnna and Lil Fate, and was jointly produced by Zukhan Bey and The Neptunes. Def Jam South was a music division of Def Jam Recordings. The label focused primarily on southern acts. It was best known for launching the career of its first artist signed, Ludacris and his own imprint, Disturbing tha Peace. In 2004, following the signing of Jeezy and hip-hop's overdominance of trap music, the division was folded into Def Jam. Nasty Beatmakers are an American record production duo, composed of brothers DJ Nasty (Johnny David Mollings) and LVM (Leonardo V. Mollings).
