Chick Donovan
Charles Donovan Kelley (born March 7, 1947), better known by his ring name Chick Donovan, is an American semi-retired professional wrestler who worked for Georgia Championship Wrestling and a short time with World Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Federation. Professional wrestling career Making his professional debut in 1977, he carried on notable feuds with wrestling legends Jerry "The King" Lawler and Tommy Rich. He wrestled at the peak of his career in the American Wrestling Association and the NWA. In 1981, while working for the Continental Wrestling Association in Memphis, he was recruited into The First Family by manager (& then- AWA Southern Heavyweight Champion) Jimmy Hart. Donovan would later win the Southern Heavyweight title from Hart in a farcical match when Hart laid down in the ring and allowed Donovan to pin him. Lagrange, Georgia
LaGrange is a city in and the county seat of Troup County, Georgia, United States. The population of the city was estimated to be 30,858 in 2020 by the U.S. Census Bureau. Continental Championship Wrestling was a professional wrestling promotion based in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Dothan, Alabama, from 1985 until 1989, owned by Ron Fuller. The promotion evolved out of the NWA-affiliated Southeastern Championship Wrestling and Gulf Coast Championship Wrestling territories owned by Fuller, who purchased the Knoxville territory from John Cazana in 1974 and the Alabama/Florida territory in 1977. The AWA Southern Tag Team Championship was a professional wrestling tag team title in the Tennessee area from the 1940s through the late 1980s. The AWA International Heavyweight Championship, originally known as the CWA/AWA International Heavyweight Championship (also identified as the Mid-Southern International Championship and the AWA International Championship) was a major professional wrestling title defended in the Continental Wrestling Association.
