''Chiaroscuro'' is the second studio album by Australian rock band Ocean Alley, released on 9 March 2018. The album debuted at number 15 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart following its release. The album was supported by a national tour. At the J Awards of 2018, the album was nominated for Australian Album of the Year. In December 2018, the album was voted at No. 2 on Triple J's Top 10 Albums of 2018. In 2018, "The Comedown", was voted into Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2017 at #48, whilst in 2019, "Confidence", "Knees" and "Happy Sad" were voted into Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2018 at numbers 1, 10 and 100, respectively. Ocean Alley
Ocean Alley is an Australian alternative psychedelic rock band from the Northern Beaches. The band is made up of Baden Donegal (vocals, guitar), Angus Goodwin (lead guitar), Lach Galbraith (keyboard, vocals), Mitch Galbraith (guitar), Nic Blom (bass) and Tom O'Brien (drums). Their style of music has been described as "cruisey psych, rock and reggae fusion". The band has released three studio albums and two EPs independently. Triple J Hottest 100, 2017
The 2017 Triple J Hottest 100 was announced on 27 January 2018. It was the 25th countdown of the most popular songs of the year, as chosen by listeners of Australian radio station Triple J. A record-breaking number of voters (2.386 million) participated by choosing their top ten songs of 2017. Kendrick Lamar's " Humble" was voted into first place, making him the first person of colour ever to top a Hottest 100. It was also the first track by a non-Australian artist, and the first hip hop song, to win since 2012's " Thrift Shop". Lamar achieved four tracks in the countdown, as did Gang of Youths (a record-equaling three of which were in the top 10), Lorde, and The Jungle Giants. The compact disc (CD) is a digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings.
