Chetumal Airport Railway Station
Chetumal Airport is a train station near Chetumal, Quintana Roo. The station connects with the Chetumal International Airport. Tren Maya Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced the ''Tren Maya'' project in his 2018 presidential campaign. On 13 August 2018, he announced the complete outline. The new Tren Maya put Chetumal Airport station on the route connecting Tulum, Quintana Roo and Escárcega, Campeche. Chetumal (, , ; , ) is a city on the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico. It is the capital of the List of states of Mexico, state of Quintana Roo and the municipal seat of the Othón P. Chetumal International Airport () is an international airport located in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico, near the Belize–Mexico border. It serves domestic flights for Chetumal and the southern Quintana Roo region, while also supporting various executive and general aviation activities, and hosting Mexican Navy facilities. Tren Maya (Yucatec Maya: , sometimes also Mayan Train or Maya Train) is a inter-city railway in Mexico that traverses the Yucatán Peninsula. Construction began in June 2020 and the Campeche–Cancún section began operation on December 15, 2023, with the rest of the railway opening in subsequent stages, with the final segment from Escárcega to Chetumal beginning operation on December 15, 2024. Escárcega () is a small city in the Mexican state of Campeche, located at in the central part of the state. As of 2010, the city of Escárcega had a population of 29,477.
