Alex Chesterman
Alexander Edward Chesterman (born 9 January 1970) is a British Internet entrepreneur, co-founder of ScreenSelect, which later became part of online film distributor LoveFilm, and is the founder and former CEO of online used car platform Cazoo. In December 2018 Chesterman raised over £30m in pre-seed funding and then went on to raise a further round of £50m pre-launch for Cazoo. He launched the business in December 2019. In March 2020 he then went on to raise a further £100m for Cazoo. Chesterman stepped down as CEO of Cazoo in December 2023. He was also the founder of the property website Zoopla in 2007. Zoopla became a digital media business ZPG Plc (LSE:ZPG) a FTSE-250 listed company and owns brands which include Zoopla, uSwitch, PrimeLocation, Money and Hometrack and employs over 1,000 people in the UK. Ian Chesterman
Ian Andrew Chesterman (born 17 April 1959) is an Australian sports administrator serving as the current president of the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), having succeeded John Coates in 2022. Chesterman was re-elected unopposed for his second term in May 2025. He previously served as a vice president of the AOC, and the Chef de Mission of the Australian Team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Chesterman was elected as a Member of the International Olympic Committee at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with his term commencing on January 1, 2025. Before becoming the AOC President Chesterman served as a Vice President of the AOC from 2016 to 2022 and has been a member of the Executive since 2001. Across his career Chesterman has led a total of seven Australian Olympic Teams as Chef de Mission, six Winter Olympics from 1998 to 2018 as well as the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Ron Chesterman
Ronald George Arthur Chesterman (27 November 1939 – 16 March 2007) was an English musician. He is best known as the original double bass player with the Strawberry Hills Boys, starring Dave Cousins on guitar, dulcimer, banjo and vocals, Tony Hooper on guitar and vocals and Ron himself on double bass. They kept that name from 1964 when they formed until June 1967, when they were giving a concert and needed to put the name of the band on stage, so they became The Strawbs. Later, after he left the band, he became a county archivist in Chester.
