Cheryl Glenn
Cheryl Diane Glenn (born May 27, 1951) is an American politician. She was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing Maryland's 45th legislative district which is situated in northeast Baltimore. She resigned in December 2019 in advance of a federal indictment for wire fraud and bribery to which she pleaded guilty in January 2020. In July 2020, she was sentenced to two years in prison. Background Glenn was born in Baltimore, Maryland and attended the public primary and secondary schools there. She graduated from Western High School in 1969, the Community College of Baltimore County (paralegal studies) and the George Meany Institute (labor relations). She became the Political Director of and lobbyist for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters, (2004- ) after serving as President of the City Union of Baltimore, 1988–96. Maryland House of Delegates District 45 is one of 47 legislative districts in the state of Maryland and is one of the 5 located entirely within Baltimore City. Voters in this district select three delegates every four years to represent them in the Maryland House of Delegates. Demographic characteristics As of the 2020 United States census, the district had a population of 107,403, of whom 83,995 (78.2%) were of voting age. Baltimore City Delegation
The Baltimore City Delegation refers to the delegates who are elected from districts in Baltimore to serve in the Maryland House of Delegates in the United States. By 1983, the Baltimore City Delegation had 27 members, 3 each from 9 districts totally within Baltimore City. At the beginning of the 2023 legislative session that number had dropped to 14 members due to a loss in population in Baltimore City. The chairman of the delegation is chosen via an open ballot by the members of the delegation and usually serves for four years. The Federal Correctional Institution, Danbury (FCI Danbury) is a low-security United States federal prison for male and female inmates in Danbury, Connecticut. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice. Talmadge Branch (born January 30, 1956) is an American politician who represented the 45th legislative district in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1995 to 2023. Branch is a former chairman of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland and founder of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland's foundation.
