Augustin Pierre Bienvenu Chenu, also known as Fleury Chenu (12 May 1833, Briançon - 9 May 1875, Lyon) was a French painter; known for his local landscapes and hunting scenes. Biography His father was a master tailor who worked for the Sixth . He spent most of his childhood in Briançon, where the beauty of the local countryside inspired him to make landscape drawings. Marie-Dominique Chenu
Marie-Dominique Chenu (; 7 January 1895, Soisy-sur-Seine, Essonne – 11 February 1990, Paris) was a progressive Catholic theologian and one of the founders of the reformist journal '' Concilium''. Early life Chenu was born on 7 January 1895 at Soisy-sur-Seine, Essonne, and grew up under the name Marcel-Léon. His parents were bakers near Corbeil. Chenu entered the French Province of the Dominican Order in 1913, taking the name Marie-Dominique and studying at Le Saulchoir, which at the time was located (as a result of the French anti-Church laws of 1905-1906) at Kain in Belgium. With the outbreak of the First World War and the suspension of teaching at Le Saulchoir, Chenu travelled to Rome in 1914 to study at the Pontificium Collegium Internationale Angelicum, the future Angelicum. While at the Angelicum, Chenu was ordained in 1919 and completed his doctorate in theology in 1920 under the direction of Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange with a dissertation entitled ''De contempla ... Peter Francis Chenu (1760–1834) was a British sculptor of French birth working in the late 18th and early 19th century. Life and career Pierre Francois Chenu, later Peter Francis Chenu, was born in Paris in Saint-Nicolas-des-Champs (Oct 1, 1760), into a family of sculptors. His father was Nicolas-Francois Chenu, a sculptor and an assistant professor and exhibitor at the Academie de Saint-Luc. His mother was Marie-Francoise Marchandon, the daughter of another sculptor from the same academy, Firmin Marchandon. [There has been confusion perpetuated in various sources as there was another Peter Chenu who was born in 6 Jan 1760, in London. This Peter was the son of Joshua, a carver, was apprenticed, married Jane Norris or Morris in 1799, and died in rather horrible circumstances in 1800. Sébastien Chenu (born 13 April 1973) is a French politician serving as the member of the National Assembly for the 19th constituency of Nord since 2017. A former member of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP), he has also been a spokesman of the National Rally (RN, until 2018 named National Front) since 2017 under the leadership of Marine Le Pen. He is currently serving as vice-president of the French National Assembly.
