The Lok Sabha constituency Chennai Central is one of three constituencies in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Its Tamil Nadu Parliamentary Constituency number is 4 of 39. Formerly it was known as Madras Central.It is also one of the smallest constituencies in India. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam
The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (; ; DMK) is an Indian political party based in the state of Tamil Nadu, where it is currently the ruling party, and the union territory of Puducherry (union territory), Puducherry, where it is currently the main opposition. The DMK was founded on 17 September 1949 by C. N. Annadurai (Anna) as a breakaway faction from the Dravidar Kazhagam headed by Periyar. DMK was headed by Annadurai as the general secretary from 1949 until his death on 4 February 1969. He also served as the chief minister of Tamil Nadu from 1967 to 1969. Chennai District
Chennai District, formerly known as Madras district, is one of the 38 districts in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is the smallest and the most densely populated district in the state. The district is almost coterminous with the city of Chennai, which is administered by the Greater Chennai Corporation, except for Madipakkam-B / Madipakkam-II revenue village which is administered by Kovilambakkam rural village panchayat as Kovilabakkam panchayat wards 3,4 and 5 but is under Zone-14 (Puzhuthivakkam) of Greater Chennai Corporation for Disaster and Revenue Management purpose. 1980 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India on 3 and 6 January 1980 to elect the members of the 7th Lok Sabha, seventh Lok Sabha. The Janata Party alliance came into power in the 1977 Indian general election, 1977 general elections amidst public anger with the Indian National Congress (R) and the The Emergency (India), Emergency. 1977 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India between 16 and 20 March 1977 to elect the members of the sixth Lok Sabha. The elections took place during the Emergency period, which expired on 21 March 1977, shortly before the final results were announced. Ezhilan Naganathan (born 27 June 1979) is an Indian medical practitioner, social activist and politician from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). Since May 2021, he has been serving as a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from Thousand Lights constituency. Udhayanidhi Stalin (born 27 November 1977) is an Indian politician, film producer and former actor who has been the 3rd and current deputy chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu since 2024, serving under Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, his father M.
