Chen Wen-chang
Chen Wen-chang (; born April 10, 1963) is a Taiwanese chemical engineer and academic administrator who is the current president of the National Taiwan University. Succeeding Kuan Chung-ming, he took his position as president of the university on 8 January 2023. Early life and education Chen was born in Taichung on April 10, 1963. He studied chemical engineering at National Taiwan University (NTU), where he was one of the highest-ranked students of his class (top 6%) and was twice awarded a dean's list scholarship. After graduating from NTU with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in 1985, he completed two years of mandatory military service in the Republic of China Armed Forces. Chen () is a common Chinese-language surname and one of the most common surnames in Asia. It is the most common surname in Taiwan (2010) and Singapore (2000). Chen is also the most common family name in Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Macau, and Hong Kong. It is the most common surname in Xiamen, the ancestral hometown of many overseas Hoklo. Samson Jenekhe
Samson Ally Jenekhe is the Boeing-Martin Professor of Chemical Engineering and Professor of Chemistry at the University of Washington. Jenekhe was previously a chemical engineer at the University of Rochester where his work focused on semiconducting polymers and quantum wires. He has authored over 300 research articles and 28 patents. Early life and education Samson earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Michigan Technological University and his doctoral degrees from the University of Minnesota. Career Jenekhe joined the faculty of chemistry at the University of Washington in 2000 as a professor of chemical engineering and chemistry. In 2003, he was one of three University of Washington Professors elected to the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
