Chen Wan-hui
Carol Chen Wan-hui (; born 11 September 1974) is a Taiwanese politician. She was appointed a party-list member of the Legislative Yuan in 2022, representing the Taiwan People's Party. Chen replaced Ann Kao, who had been elected the Mayor of Hsinchu. Chen stepped down from the legislature in 2024. Early life, education, and career Chen was born on 11 September 1974. She is also known by the English name Carol Chen. After completing an Executive Master of Business Administration degree at National Chengchi University, she served as secretary-general of the Financial Literacy and Education Association. Political career In 2019, Chen joined the newly founded Taiwan People's Party, and was ranked ninth on the party list for proportional representation. Legislative Yuan
The Legislative Yuan () is the unicameral legislature of the Republic of China (Taiwan) located in Taipei. The Legislative Yuan is composed of 113 members, who are directly elected for four-year terms by people of the Taiwan Area through a parallel voting system. Originally located in Nanjing, the Legislative Yuan, along with the National Assembly (electoral college) and the Control Yuan (upper house), formed the tricameral parliament under the original 1947 Constitution. The Legislative Yuan previously had 760 members representing constituencies in all of China (includes provinces, municipalities, Tibet Area, and various professions in Mainland China). The Kuomintang (KMT) is a major political party in the Republic of China (Taiwan). It was the one party state, sole ruling party of the country Republic of China (1912-1949), during its rule from 1927 to 1949 in Mainland China until Retreat of the government of the Republic of China to Taiwan, its relocation to Taiwan, and in Taiwan Martial law in Taiwan, ruled under martial law until 1987.
