Marjorie Conrad
Marjorie Conrad (born October 1, 1988) is a French-American filmmaker and model. She is known for being the eleventh eliminated '' America's Next Top Model (Cycle 11)'', and for her narrative feature films ''Chemical Cut'' (2016) and Desire Path (2020). Personal life Conrad was born in Marseille to French parents Didier Conrad, a graphic novel artist of Swiss origin, and Sophie Commenge, a graphic novel scenarist of partial Italian ancestry. When she was eight years old, the family left France and relocated to Los Angeles, California after her father began working on the film '' The Road to El Dorado'' (2000) with DreamWorks Studio. Conrad and her brother did not learn English until beginning public schooling in California. Conrad attended school in the Los Angeles Unified School District, and began pursuing filmmaking as a middle schooler. Slamdance Film Festival
The Slamdance Film Festival is an annual film festival focused on emerging artists. The annual week-long festival takes place in Park City, Utah, in late January and is the main event organized by the year-round Slamdance organization, which also hosts a screenplay competition, workshops, screenings throughout the year and events with an emphasis on independent films with budgets under US$1 million. History The festival was founded in 1995 by Dan Mirvish, Jon Fitzgerald, Shane Kuhn, and Peter Baxter, along with Paul Rachman, after they had been unsuccessful in submitting films to the Sundance Film Festival. Buffalo International Film Festival
The Buffalo International Film Festival was founded in 2006, and takes place in October of each year in Buffalo, New York. It is also known as the Buffalo Film Festival. History The film festival became a 501c3 not-for-profit charity in January 2005. In 2007 it was responsible for the discovery of the Vitascope Theater, part of Edisonia Hall, the first purpose-built movie theater in the world which opened in 1896. The festival now sponsors a yearly event celebrating the creation of the Movie Theater in Buffalo. It also made Buffalo the first city in the world to declare UNESCO World Day for Audio-Visual Heritage. In 2013 the BIFF hosted a meet and greet book signing with children's author Keith White Jr. for the screenings of Magic Camp and Dear Mr. Watterson. White was again present at the 2014 BIFF.
