Cheltenham Football Club
The Cheltenham Football Club is an Australian rules football club from Melbourne, Victoria, Melbourne, that was founded in 1891 and currently plays in Division 1 of the Southern Football Netball League. History As early as 1891, the "Cheltenham Football Club" regularly played football matches, often travelling long distances from their southern Melbourne, Victoria, Melbourne base to play country teams such as Ballarat. The Cheltenham home games were played on a paddock on the corner of Park and Charman roads in Cheltenham, Victoria, Cheltenham. In 1909, the club moved to its current home at the Cheltenham Recreational Reserve on Weatherall Road. Also in 1909, Cheltenham entered in the newly formed Federal Football League, Federal Association and became the inaugural Federal Association premiers. Southern Football Netball League
The Southern Football Netball League (SFNL) is an Australian rules football league, based in the south and south eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, for both seniors and juniors. History The South East Suburban Football League was formed in 1963 as a merger of the Caulfield Oakleigh District Football League with the East Suburban Football League after a number of its clubs moved to the Croydon Ferntree Gully FL (now Eastern Football League (Australia), Eastern Football League). When the Federal Football League folded at the end of 1981, the SESFL had twenty clubs. After the addition of all but one of the Federal clubs for 1982, the league had a 16 team A grade, and a 12 team B grade competition. The league twice tried 3 divisions but the idea was later dropped as clubs left or folded. Trevor Barker
Trevor Graeme Barker (7 October 1956 – 26 April 1996) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the St Kilda Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). One of the VFL's pin-up boys with his teen-idol appearance, blonde hair and suntanned skin, "Barks" was one of the finest high-marking players of his era; and, although of slight build, his skill and athleticism were matched by raw courage and competitiveness. More than any other player before or since, he was the living embodiment of St Kilda's club motto ''Fortius quo fidelius'' (strength through loyalty), staying with his beloved club through the toughest period in its history despite receiving better offers from other clubs. After his early death from cancer at the age of 39, St Kilda honoured Barker's memory by naming the club's best-and-fairest award in his name. Stewart Ginn
Stewart Ginn (born 2 June 1949) is an Australian professional golfer. Early life Ginn was born in Melbourne. He grew up behind the twelfth green of the Royal Melbourne Golf Club. Early in his life "he used to caddy at Royal Melbourne." He then moved on to be a golf manager at the club. Professional career In the 1970s and 1980s he won several professional tournaments on the PGA Tour of Australasia and one on the European Tour, the 1974 Martini International. He also played regularly on the Asia Golf Circuit, winning three tournaments, and on the Japan Golf Tour, where he has one win. He won the inaugural PGA Tour of Australia Order of Merit in 1973. The Mornington Peninsula Football Netball League (MPFNL), formerly known as the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League (MPNFL), is an Australian rules football competition, governed by the AFL South East. The MPFNL contains teams near the southeastern region of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, Victoria. The Chelsea Heights Football Netball Club is an Australian rules football and netball club located in the bayside suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The club currently participates in the Division 2 of Southern Football Netball League, based in the south and south eastern suburbs of Melbourne. History Chelsea Heights was established in 1969.
