Chelsea Football Club Women, formerly known as Chelsea Ladies Football Club, are an English women's football club based in Kingston upon Thames, London. Founded in 1992, they compete in the Women's Super League, the top flight of women's football in England, and play their home games at the Kingsmeadow with some select games at Stamford Bridge. Since 2004, the club has been affiliated with Chelsea F.C., the men's team in the Premier League. Chelsea Women were a founding member of the Super League in 2010. From 2005 to 2010, the side competed in the Premier League National Division, the top tier of women's football in England at the time. Women's FA Community Shield
The Women's FA Community Shield was an association football competition in England. It was a national super cup, and the equivalent of the FA Community Shield in male football. It was the first competitive match of the football season. The match was contested between the champions of the FA Women's Premier League ( FA Women's Super League in the 2020 edition) and the winners of the Women's FA Cup. When the league champions also won the FA Cup, the cup runners-up played the match. The first Community Shield was contested in 2000, and lasted for eight years until 2008. In 2020, the competition was briefly revived for one edition and then ceased to exist again. The ''Staines Informer'' is a weekly free newspaper distributed in the area in and around Staines-upon-Thames. It is now owned by the Trinity Mirror group through their North Surrey and London Newspapers division. The ''Stains Informer'' began in 1974. Tony Farmer (football Manager)
Tony Farmer is the founder and inaugural manager of women's association football club Chelsea F.C. Women, then called Chelsea Ladies F.C. He successfully petitioned Chelsea F.C. to create the club in 1992, which installed him as its first manager, a role he served in until 1997. During his time as manager, Farmer recruited youth players to the team who would become prominent England national team players and the foundations of Chelsea's early top-flight competitions, including Fara Williams and Casey Stoney. He also led Chelsea's women's side to its first league championships and promotions. John Hollins
John William Hollins (16 July 1946 – 14 June 2023) was an English football player and manager. He initially played as a midfielder, before becoming an effective full-back later in his career. Hollins played in the Football League, predominantly for Chelsea, with whom he won the FA Cup, Football League Cup and UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. He made 592 appearances for Chelsea over two spells from 1963 to 1975 and from 1983 to 1984, making him one of six players to have made over 500 appearances for the club. He subsequently played for Queens Park Rangers (1975–1979) and Arsenal (1979–1983), and made a total of 714 First Division appearances, an English top division record for an outfield player and second only to goalkeeper Peter Shilton.
