Chelangatt Gopalakrishnan
Chelangatt Gopalakrishnan (6 June 1932 – 4 June 2010) was an Indian journalist, known for his research and writings on Malayalam Cinema. Early life and education Chelangatt Gopalakrishnan was born on 6 June 1932 in Alappuzha, Kerala to Sri Nediyedathu Kesava Pillai and Thrikkeparambil Ammukkutti Amma. He graduated from the Government Arts College in 1951. Writing career Gopalakrishnan started his career as a journalist in a regional newspaper, Malayali. Later, he worked for newspapers, including ''Mathrubhumi''.. He rediscovered several forgotten personalities, including J.C. Daniel, the father of Malayalam Cinema. He wrote more than 20 books about cinema, and also other books in various categories including children's literature. Cherthala
Cherthala is a municipality in the Alappuzha district of Kerala, India and acts as a satellite town of Kochi. It is located north of the district headquarters in Alappuzha and about north of the state capital Thiruvananthapuram. As per the 2011 Indian census, Cherthala has a population of 45,821 people, and a population density of . Etymology According to local legend, Vilwamangalam Swamiyar, the Kerala Hindu saint, while travelling through Cherthala, found an idol of the Devi with its head immersed in a muddy pond. The swami understood the divinity of the idol, took it out of the mud, cleaned it and consecrated it in a temple near the pond. Thus the place is believed to have gotten its name as ''cher'' meaning "mud" and ''thala'' meaning "head" in Malayalam. The deity of the temple has the name ''Cherthala Karthiyayani''. Rama Varma Vayalar
Vayalar Ramavarma (25 March 1928 – 27 October 1975), also known as Rama Varma Vayalar and simply Vayalar, and was an Indian poet and lyricist of Malayalam language. He was known for his poems, including ''Sargasangeetham'', ''Mulankaadu'', ''Padamudrakal'', ''Aayisha'', and ''Oru Judas janikkunnu'', and for around 1,300 songs he penned for 256 Malayalam films. He received the National Film Award for Best Lyrics in 1972 and was the winner of the Kerala State Film Award for Best Lyricist in its year of inception which he received three more times. He was also a recipient of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Poetry in 1962. His collaborations with G. Devarajan produced the golden era of Malayalam film music and many songs written and composed by these duo remain classics in Malayalam.
