Clarksville Independent School District is a rural public school district in Red River County, Texas ( USA) and serves all students in the town of Clarksville and small portions of nearby communities. Approximately 690 students were enrolled for the Fall 2011 semester. In 2009, the school district was rated " academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency. In 2010, the high school as well as the District received a rating of "" recognized" by the Texas Education Agency. Schools Clarksville ISD operates four campuses, including Clarksville High School (grades 9-12), Cheatham Middle School (grades 6-8), Clarksville Elementary School (grades K-5), and the Vocational School/DAEP. 2012-13 Administration Pam Bryant serves as Superintendent of Schools. After 33 years of service to Clarksville ISD in various capacities such as teacher, principal, special programs director, and assistant superintendent, Bryant was named CEO for the District in 2007. Clarksville, Texas
Clarksville is a city and county seat of Red River County, Texas, in the United States in the northernmost part of the Piney Woods region of East Texas. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 2,857. Geography Clarksville is located at (33.611086, –95.052448). Located northwest of Texarkana near the center of the county, it is at the junctions of U.S. Highway 82, State Highway 37, and Farm roads 114, 412, 909, 910, and 1159. Clarksville High School (Texas)
Clarksville High School is a public high school located in Clarksville, Texas, United States. It is part of the Clarksville Independent School District located in central Red River County and classified as a 2A school by the University Interscholastic League (UIL). In 2013, the school was rated " Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency. Accountability Rating In past years, the campus had fallen victim to lower and lower test scores on the state-mandated TAKS Test. The District was determined to turn things around. After much hard work from educators and students, the Clarksville High School went from being an unacceptable campus to a "Recognized Campus" in 2009-2010. Activities The Clarksville Tigers compete in the following activities: Cross Country, Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Powerlifting, Track.
