Adamos Chatzigeorgiou, sometimes transliterated as Adamos Hadjigeorgiou, ( el, Αδάμος Χατζηγεωργίου; born 18 September 1992 in Larnaca) is a Cypriot football midfielder who plays for PO Ormidia in the Cypriot Third Division. Club career Anorthosis Famagusta Season 2010-11 Chatzigeorgiou comes from Anorthosis' academies and he was promoted to the first team from Guillermo Ángel Hoyos. He made his debut with Anorthosis on 24 August 2010 against CSKA Moscow on UEFA Europa League play-offs. He replaced Cristóvão Ramos on the 70th minute of the game. His first league appearance was on 14 May 2011 on the last match day of the play-offs against AEK Larnaca. He was in the starting lineup and he played for 71 minutes when he was replaced by Christoforos Christofi. Menelaos Chatzigeorgiou ( el, Μενέλαος Χατζηγεωργίου; 24 November 1924 – 12 October 2020), surname alternatively transliterated Hatzigeorgiou or Hadjigeorgiou, was a Greek politician and athlete. Biography A native of Thessaloniki, Chatzigeorgiou began his career as a basketball player with Aris B.C. in the 1930s and into the 1940s. After World War II, Chatzigeorgiou competed in swimming, water polo, and track and field for Aris Thessaloniki. He retired in the 1950s and became an administrator for the club, serving as president between 1972 and 1973. Takis Hadjigeorgiou ( el, Τάκης Χατζηγεωργίου; born 11 December 1956) is a Cypriot politician and Member of the European Parliament for the Progressive Party of Working People, sitting with the European United Left–Nordic Green Left group, on the European Parliament's Committee of Foreign Affairs. He is also a member of the Delegation to the EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee and Delegation to the EU-Armenia, EU-Azerbaijan and EU-Georgia Parliamentary Cooperation Committees. Michel Hatzigeorgiou (born 1961) is a Belgian bass guitarist. He was born in Belgium from Greek parents. He started playing bouzouki at the age of 9, then switched to electric guitar at 11 and finally to electric bass at 14. He could have or should have played with Scorpions after a quick trip to Hamburg for an audition, but his father told him to "Get your "Bac" first. He joined his first band, the Blackbirds, as lead guitarist, when he was a student at Charleroi Technical University. In 1982, he attended the jazz seminar in Liège. Elder Hadji-Georgis the Athonite ( el, Γέρων Χατζη-Γεώργης ο Αθωνίτης; born 1809; died 30 December 1886) was a Cappadocian Greek Orthodox monk and ascetic. Early life In 1809, he was born as Gabriel in Kermira (also spelled Germir or Kermil), in what is now Melikgazi, Kayseri Province, Turkey. His father, Jordan, was a native of Kermira, while his mother, Maria, was from Gelveri (present-day Güzelyurt, Aksaray Province). Gabriel had a brother named Anastasios. When he was 14 years old, he moved to Constantinople with his family to be with his uncle, who served as an official in the court of Sultan Mahmud II. Gabriel served in the sultan's court for four years. Monastic life In 1828, during the Greek War of Independence, he left Constantinople and took a boat to Gregoriou Monastery at Mount Athos.
