Chattogram Medical College Hospital
Chittagong Medical College, abbreviated as CMC is a public medical college located in Chittagong, Bangladesh. It is the second oldest and second largest medical educational institute and hospital in Bangladesh. It is affiliated with the Chittagong Medical University. History Chittagong Medical College was established in 1957. Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) was established in 1959, adjacent to the college, with 120 beds. Construction of the present purpose-built, six-storied CMCH was completed in 1969. Between 150 and 225 students graduated each year from 2010 to 2015. As of 2019, it had an annual enrollment capacity of 220 students. On August 29, 2024, Jasim Uddin took charge as the acting principal of Chittagong Medical College (CMC). He succeeded Sahena Akter, who was appointed as the principal of CMC on January 20, 2021. Shahaduz Zaman (; born 1960) is a writer in Bengali literature. He is a medical anthropologist and a trained physician. He published over 30 books in different genres such as short stories, novels, travelogues, columns, and essays on contemporary issues. Shamsuddin Ahmed (surgeon)
Shamsuddin Ahmed (; 1 August 1920 9 April 1971) was an East Pakistan medical doctor who was killed in the Bangladesh Liberation war and considered a martyr in Bangladesh. Early life Ahmed was born on 1 August 1920 to a Bengali Muslim family in Ambarkhana, Sylhet, British Raj. His father, Imanuddin Ahmed, worked in the Ministry of Railways, and his mother's name was Rasheda Begum. He completed his matriculation from Sylhet Government High School in 1939, and his Intermediate of Arts from the Murari Chand College in 1941. He graduated with an MBBS from Calcutta Medical College in 1946, and gained his FRCS from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in the United Kingdom. Bir Uttom
Bir Uttom () is the second highest award for individual gallantry in Bangladesh after the Bir Sreshtho and the highest gallantry award for living individual. Since the independence of Bangladesh in 1971, 69 people have been awarded the Bir Uttom. Recipients This award was declared on 15 December 1973. A total of 67 people have been rewarded for their bravery and dedication in the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. Lieutenant G. M. Mount Everest (), known locally as Sagarmatha in Nepal and Qomolangma in Tibet, is Earth's highest mountain above sea level. Muhammad Afsarul Ameen (1 January 1952 – 2 June 2023) was a Bangladeshi Awami League politician. Mozammel Hossain (1 August 1940 – 10 January 2020) was a Bangladesh Awami League politician and a member of parliament from Bagerhat-1 and Bagerhat-4. Early life Hossain was born on 1 August 1940.
