Chartier (restaurant)
Chartier is a French Canadian restaurant in Beaumont, Alberta. History Chartier opened in 2016 after its owners, Darren and Sylvia Cheverie, conducted a successful Kickstarter campaign in which more than 500 donors collectively contributed more than $100,000. Its first head chef was Steve Brochu. It received very positive early coverage and was among the 30 restaurants named to Air Canada's Best New Restaurants longlist in 2017. The restaurant also begun to host many events, including fundraisers and dinners that showcased products of local farmers. Brochu left as head chef in 2019 to found his own restaurant, MilkCrate, at the Citadel Theatre. Beaumont, Alberta
Beaumont ( ) is a city adjacent to Leduc County within the Edmonton Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada. It is at the intersection of Highway 625 and Highway 814, adjacent to the City of Edmonton and northeast of the City of Leduc. The Nisku Industrial Park and the Edmonton International Airport are to the west and to the southwest respectively. Originally a French-speaking farming community, Beaumont is now a city with 20,888 people. Its downtown core resembles a French village with unique architecture and red brick walkways. Citadel Theatre
The Citadel Theatre is the major venue for theatre arts in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, located in the city's downtown core on Churchill Square. It is the third largest regional theatre in Canada. History It began in a former Salvation Army Citadel, on 102 Street, bought by Joseph H. Shoctor, James L. Martin, Ralph B. Franco-Albertans () are francophone residents of the Canadian province of Alberta. Franco-Albertans is a term primarily used to denote the province's francophone residents. In the 2016 Canadian Census, there were 86,705 Albertans that stated their mother tongue was French. Francophones were the first Europeans to visit the province, with French Canadian voyageurs employed in the fur trade exploring the region in the late 18th century.
